Dinner with a view

I had a great time at this place! Very fine cuisine and friendly staff. I had a great view of the acropolis from my table, enjoying the sunset while eating one of the best meals of my holliday!! A wonderfull way to spend my last evening in Greece.

If you understand that this is probably the best place to view the Acropolis at night, then dine here. Although more than one person recommended this restaurant, only the view is fabulous. if you understand this, then go and do not expect a culinary miracle. In Then, you will have a spectacular time because of the view.

This is truly and experience. Sitting in a spacious and luxurious environment in the middle of Athens while feasting your eyes on the ageless Parthenon through the large glass wall. It seems so close you feel you could reach out and touch it. The service is excellent, it almost feels you have a waiter over your shoulder throughout your meal.... More

My boyfriend and I were recommended to this restaurant from our taxi cab driver, my first thoughts upon driving up to Dionysos was "this is really nice, it looks very modern and classy". We decided to sit inside with the air conditioning, as we seen there is outside seating as well, as a woman, I love and admire beautiful decor... More

We went with family 5 in total, view is stunning , service at the restaurant was excellent, everything was great, also the price, we spent 200 euros so average was 40 euros without wine and only 2 desserts, but we enjoyed the restaurant and the food.

The restaurant has a very nice view of Acropolis specially at night. It is structured in levels where you have an indoor area with large glass front for formal dinning with an extended terrace and a quick bite cafe, coffee and juice area on lower terrace levels. Staff was nice, spoke well English. Menu written in both Greek and English.... More

The best views of the Acropolis are from Dionysos Zonar's, so plan to have a meal here and then visit the Archaeological Museum and Acropolis. Service is excellent and traditional Greek food will not disappoint. It's excellent, and our adult children think it's a must for any trip to Athens! The 36-hour lamb dish was superb, and thank goodness, a... More

The setting is the thing at this restaurant. We sat outside and had a great view of the lit-up Acropolis. The service was good as was the food.

What a beautiful restaurant. Charming front of house, very polite and efficient lady. Service was good throughout, food excellent. We pushed the boat out and had chateaubriand, perfectly cooked and perfectly served. All enhanced by splendid views of the illuminated Parthenon. Not expensive really considering the quality, the setting and that it is in the capital city.

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighborhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centerpiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
