Acropolis gastronomea excellencia and THE VIEW.

WOW - sit outside but inside under the Acropolis. It was hard to concentrate on the food - but the quality brings you back to your senses then sends you soaring again. This is THE restaurant which typifies all things Greek. PLUSES: the view - the range and depth of all menu is immense - fast... read more

Great meal in a beautiful setting. After a week in Greece this was our final meal-- definitely the best we had the entire trip, authentic but beautifully presented, delicious, and excellent service. Call ahead and ask for outside table.

Great food and views. The place was cozy and romantic with a family owned feel to it. Have the lamb stuffed with feta cheese and their house wine tastes great. Not that pricey

My husband and I read a few reviews on our way here. Yes, the place looks a little pretentious, but the food, service, and the views speak for itself. Without reservations you cannot sit on the balcony, and that is exactly where you want to be. We ended up not making reservations and sat inside. We ordered marinated sardines, kid... More

Food is greek and really good. Vary choice of menu à la carte. The view on the acropolis is very romantic and the service is good. Highly recommended both by locals and tourists.

Luckily we had booked a table in the morning as the restaurant was full when we arrived. We were a group of 11 of various ages (7 - 60) but were served quickly. Everyone enjoyed their food and we would particularly recommend the kid in parchment and the milk pudding. It is a smart restaurant but not expensive and a... More

Pretentious atmosphere and average tastes, all in a not so interesting part of Athens downtown. The view of the Acropolis is overrated, since you can find way better spots for it.

Under the Acropolis and on a corner of the street thers that nice restaurant that first of all has a very nice viu of the Acropolis and the territory around from the up floor , for me that I'm Greek the food was just good but not something special, its traditional Greek kitchen and the prices were affordable, the people that served... Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighborhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centerpiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
