Spectacular under the stars

Outstanding in every way - food, service, tableware, setting. By rule gourmet in every sense of the word. Coming from NYC we are food snobs and this food and dining experience holds up to the best of them. Go is all I can say and you will be delighted!!!!

We had a nice table at the outside area. Discrete and nice atmosphere and ambience, as always. We arrived for dinner at 21:00 and chose the "Discovery" menu, which is a tasting menu with 4 glasses of a selection of greek wines, that costs 157 euros/person. This is the best and most expensive degustation menu of the restaurant. The menu... More

I had made some dinner reservations in advance, so we had most of our dinner plans accounted for before we arrived. However, the one shining star among all the reservation I had made was at Spondi. We were not disappointed! We were seated in an outside area, and the service, presentation and food were all worthy of Spondi’s two Michelin... More

Our family of four enjoyed a nice evening at Spondi. We had several extraordinary dishes and several average dishes. Having experienced over 20 Michelin starred restaurants, we held high expectations of Spondi's two Michelin stars and the associated price tag but we were left satisfied but not necessary impressed. First, while eating in an open air courtyard by the street,... More

Happy to have chose this place to pre celebrate my wife's birthday! The service is amazing and the food is really good - very interesting flavored - we ordered the Foie Gras and the crab was the perfect choice for dinner with the Chilean wine..definitely a must visit in case you want to celebrate a special occasion

Our meal was a delight from start to finish. We sat at a table on the outdoor terrace, which was very pleasant. My husband and I chose the "Discovery" menu and it was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. Each dish was unique and a bit unusual but completely delicious. The service was *excellent*; the waiters anticipated... More

Spondi's food is not for the faint-of-heart; the food is intense and amazing! There are a bunch of very unique dishes for someone to try. The service is great, and the atmosphere seems that you are in a private little enclave in Athens. It is absolutely worth a visit when visiting Athens.

In this country where style corners are getting less and less Spondi keeps you at European level. Everything has style: the waiters the presentation the food the ambience. When I'm depressed from the ugliness of athens I pass by, my mood and palate are always restored

yes it was more expensive than the average meal you get in Greece, but it was definitely worth it. The service was attentive and professional, the ambiance was refined but not stuffy (and beautiful because you were surrounded by greenery on a patio), and the food was really creative and delicious. My husband really enjoyed the crab appetizer and the... More

This is truly a classic restaurant worthy of mention. The service is of course excellent and the food innovative and unique. It certainly deserves the two Michelin stars and well worth the visit.

Staying in Pangrati

Neighborhood Profile
Pangrati
The elongated Panathenaic Stadium, built for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, acts as grand gateway to the otherwise purely Athenian neighborhood of Pangrati. This area of typical small squares, busy main roads and residential streets will give you a clear sense of what living in this metropolis is like. A walk up quiet Markou Mousourou Street on the west side of the stadium will bring you past the First National Cemetery to Mets, home to many expats. Turn right to reach the charming Platia Varnava. East of the stadium, commercial Eratosthenous Street leads to rather nondescript Platia Plastira, from where Effranoros Street continues uphill to Platia Profiti Ilia, crowned by a huge church. Among the standard four- to six-story apartment blocks that typify Athens, Pangrati also boasts some genuinely authentic tavernas and the odd trendy bar.
