Fantastic place, incredible food

We had an 8 course menu with greek and everything was above excellent. Service was attentive and humourous, the food was plenty and inventive and the wines were all well suited for the courses. Among the best meals in my life! Go if you are in Athens.

You'll pay for it, but this place is impeccable. Very attentive staff, really creative dishes. The menu is short, but they'll work with you if you have dietary restrictions (as any great restaurant should).

We had the opportunity to dine at 7 Michelin restaurants during our vacation these past two weeks, and at Spondi (2 Michelin) we had a wonderful 7 course Discovery menu with wine pairing. Several tasty amuse-bouche were offered before the courses. Exceptional dishes were the duck with three toppings and scrumptious chocolate dessert. They had an amazing cheese trolley with... More

We visited Spondi on our last night on the basis of 2 michelin stars and excellent reviews. I have had the fortune of dining in many 1, 2 and 3 Michelin star restaurants in all over the world. How this place earned 2 stars completely baffles me. It cannot draw any comparisons at all on quality of ingredients, cooking, service,... More

was visiting Athens for 1 night only. I ve decided to book in Spondi. the place is magical, though my first impression was, why I chose this empty place since the garden was empty and there was no host. after entering inside, the place was buzzing with a wall full of awards which was surprisingly nice. waiters were friendly and... I like experimenting and tried the langoustine with grapefruit but it was not to my taste. The red mullet was excellent. The cheese trolley offers a good selection of cheeses, but reminded me of typical french restaurants, not what I expected from a restaurant like Spondi.

Everything we expected of this restaurant and more. Service was professional and the setting was fancy and the food was just wonderful! Creative, complex, surprising and precise. I've read some unflattering reviews of the place especially regarding pricing. For a 2 Michelin stars restaurants it really isn't that expensive and it is very very good. Make sure you have the... After visiting the Olympic Stadium we ate close to there at Spondi, whose chef won quite a few awards for menus that change according to the seasons and his very creative imagination. Our meals were decorated very lovely and it seemed like art, here it does count that the eyes also eat. The cuisine is French though, but as we... More

The food was sublime and beautifully presented with a minimalistic touch the customer service was outstanding and friendly the decor was a combination of a warm rustic-chic natural stone and brick with the elegance of luxurious modern interior design. So for me it was completely worth it! Definitely a place I'll visit again!

Staying in Pangrati

Neighborhood Profile
Pangrati
The elongated Panathenaic Stadium, built for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, acts as grand gateway to the otherwise purely Athenian neighborhood of Pangrati. This area of typical small squares, busy main roads and residential streets will give you a clear sense of what living in this metropolis is like. A walk up quiet Markou Mousourou Street on the west side of the stadium will bring you past the First National Cemetery to Mets, home to many expats. Turn right to reach the charming Platia Varnava. East of the stadium, commercial Eratosthenous Street leads to rather nondescript Platia Plastira, from where Effranoros Street continues uphill to Platia Profiti Ilia, crowned by a huge church. Among the standard four- to six-story apartment blocks that typify Athens, Pangrati also boasts some genuinely authentic tavernas and the odd trendy bar.
