Unbelievable all the waiters had a smile on their face, they were more the happy to answer all questions and the service was impeccable. One of the best if not the best restaurant in Athens.

It's hard to decide what rating to give a restaurant like this - it's very good, for a normal restaurant. But it's not in the same class (or price range) as normal or even high-end restaurants . This restaurant has two Michelin stars... There is a level of expectation incurred. In the summer, only patio seating is available. This is... More

The very Best!!!! truly amazing experience, Spondi is one of the few restaurants in Athens that take eating to a whole other level , of experiencing new tastes and the whole philosophy behind eating. Very nice place. Compared to other Greek resaturants it will look expensive but again its service and Quality cannot be compared to any other. It Does... More

I have to agree with the previous contributor, it is expensive to eat here, but not compared to a 2 michelin star restaurant elsewhere in Europe. The food for 3 courses was around 80 pounds had we have not drunk a bottle of vintage champagne, which did push the cost of the evening up by another 140 pounds. But was... More

Spondi is absolutely delicious. It's simply top quality food with awesome service, we were treated like royalty by the attentive staff the entire time. The menu is unique and ridiculously tasty! Even though it is a pricey place to eat by Greek standards, it is very reasonable when compared to other restaurants of their ilk world-wide. The restaurant is laid... More

Spondi was an absolutely wonderful experience and I highly recommend this to anyone who likes good food! When we arrived, the staff were all very welcoming and all stopped to say hello. We were quickly served with water and bread and an amuse bouche... Actually, 4 separate amuse bouche, each! Each one was excellent and the flavours were Greek inspired... More

We had a fabulous last night in Greece dining with Spondi. We ate on the terrace and it was absolutely lovely despite the summer heat. The food was on par with the best restaurants we have in NYC, and the staff was incredibly warm and friendly. We did the smaller tasting menu, and were really satisfied with it.

Walking through some of the dilapidated streets of Athens and then arriving at this peaceful oasis seems almost unreal. The service was great and very attentive without being overdone. We opted for the 2 set menus' and when adding in all the little appetizers we probably had some 12 courses. Some dishes were more avant-garde than bliss but the Spondi... More

Staying in Pangrati

Neighborhood Profile
Pangrati
The elongated Panathenaic Stadium, built for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, acts as grand gateway to the otherwise purely Athenian neighborhood of Pangrati. This area of typical small squares, busy main roads and residential streets will give you a clear sense of what living in this metropolis is like. A walk up quiet Markou Mousourou Street on the west side of the stadium will bring you past the First National Cemetery to Mets, home to many expats. Turn right to reach the charming Platia Varnava. East of the stadium, commercial Eratosthenous Street leads to rather nondescript Platia Plastira, from where Effranoros Street continues uphill to Platia Profiti Ilia, crowned by a huge church. Among the standard four- to six-story apartment blocks that typify Athens, Pangrati also boasts some genuinely authentic tavernas and the odd trendy bar.
