Good food, nice restaurant

Located on a side street just down from our rented apartment - open after their annual closure, we had a very pleasant meal. Lots of locals glad to see the restaurant re-opened so what's not to like. Recommended by the hotel we stayed in. Had the nicest steak I have had in some time. Good service and very good value.

Authentic restaurant with good food and resonably priced. The rib eye steak can be highly recommended but be warned of the huge piece of meat you will have master. Comes with excellent French fries. Friendly and supportive service. Like to go there again.

This was our first dinner in Portugal and it did not disappoint! Our first Vino Verde (excellent) and the showstopper - house made sausage cooked by a flame at the table. Traditional duck rice was also delicious and plentiful. Big portions for the money. It was a fine intro to Portuguese food. Viano do Castelo is also a lovely town,... More

This restaurant serves simple Portuguese food at good prices and in large portions. We were headed for a restaurant higher up the trip advisor list but our hotel recommended this one. The food was not Egon Ronay but it was fine and good value for money. It was very busy with a mixture of locals and tourists. There was not... More

It's a pleasant traditional family restaurant. There were 4 of us and 2 courses with two bottles of wine worked out about £13 a head. It's mainly fish and the sea bass was excellent

Ótimo restaurante, inacreditável a qualidade do bacalhau, muito bem preparado e temperado. Boas ofertas de vinho, um dos melhores restaurantes de Portugal. Great restaurant, unbelievable quality of codfish, very well prepared and tempered. Good selection of wines, one of the best restaurants in Portugal. If you visit Viana do Costelo, you must have dinner in this family run restaurant. Traditional food, great Portuguese wines, and attentive service. It seemed to us there were many locals eating here. The son of the owner was our waiter and since it was our first night in his city, we had questions...which he graciously took time to answer.... More
