Very good choice

We came across this nice restaurant in a rainy night in Porto. We were the 2nd and only couple for that evening and i was very surprised to see so few people but at the end this revealed to be better for our dinner experience as we got the full attention of the waiter. I took the fresh oysters as... read more

Nice staff (although a little slow, but he was alone), nice atmosphere, very good starters and main course, desserts were not so good. I used to smoke so I became really sensitive to the smell, it's a turn down when I'm eating and someone's smoking right next to me. I really don't understand why is this still allowed specially indoors... More

We had a very good New Year dinner at Cometa. Though it was a fixed menu the meal was nice, service - attentive. We liked a lot baked goat - it's not common for our country and it was nice to try it. The only recomthat we can give to Cometa management: it would be great if you inform your... More

On the evening that we visited Cometa it only appeared to be staffed by two people, the charming lady in charge of front of house, and the chef. This obviously meant that the service was fairly slow, but on a wet night in Porto this suited us very well. We thoroughly enjoyed our elegant and slightly boho surroundings and the... More

We had such a lovely meal here. The food, the wine, the atmosphere, the service... even the artwork! It all made for a very special dinner.

We we were walking along this street during the day and were immediately aware, that this might be an interesting place with a nice view over Porto for a dinner. We started with nice olive and oven-fresh bread, followed by house-made ravioli stuffed with fresh cheese and an beautiful Gazpacho, not in the Mid-European style to mix yourself, but finally... Ummmmm..........I had read reviews on trip advisor that portions were small and food was bland so we over-ordered , but managed to eat everything because it was so delicious ! Food at Cometa is subtle and delicious, portions are medium to large.....I don't get these comments....how bizarre We were greeted by our lovely waitress with some fantastic white porto tonics... This little restaurant is at the top of a flight of stone steps up from the river, a little way out from the main centre, but not more than 5 or 10 minutes walk - and it is so worth the effort of tracking it down! Wonderful food and wine, reasonable prices, lovely decor and excellent service. The octopus I... More

Located down a little cobble stone street on the corner, the restaurant has a very cosy and welcoming yet fresh and light ambience with its aqua blue walls and collection on knick knacks on the walls and miss matching chairs. The food was okay; portions where small and what you see on the menu is exactly what you get e.g.... More

I spent a nice evening at this restaurant. We ate some ravioli for starters (quite good) and then we had some good octopus with some good, house white wine. And for the end I had a nice lemon pie. The food was nice, the service was impeccable. All served very nicely and poshy. But the rations were very small, specially... More
