Great spot for tasting ports not available in U.S.

This place was recommended by friends who love port (they know we do too), and we had a great experience. There's a port tasting menu offering 3 glasses, 6 glasses, or various combinations of different kinds of port. They also offer small plates of cheese or chocolate to try with the port, and the... read more

Although I personally do not enjoy port wine (I'm definitely a a red wine girl), this place definitely gave me the chance to try the best varieties of port, which is a must while in Porto! The people were friendly and gave a ton of valuable information. Plus the space is really cozy and inviting! A must for port tastings.

It is a charming place to taste porto wines from small producers, with waiters that explain their diferences and qualities (during otro stay we heared them to people with very good english, spanish and french)

A great bar close to the Douro river and easy to get to by foot. The interior and atmosphere are wonderful: installations made of wine bottles, barrels and corks all around, nice wooden furniture - just the thing for drinking aged wines :) We've only been to the ground floor, but I believe they also have halls upstairs and downstairs.... This is the place to sample port. Yes, I suppose it is worth going over to one of the big cellars just for the experience, but all the ports on offer here come from small producers and they are wonderful. The staff is knowledgeable and explains what you are drinking and it's a good lesson in appreciating port. There are... More

What an experience....As soon as you walk into the nicely lighted wine bar-shop you are attended in a personalised way by the kind waiters. You can either experience a wide selection of wine tasting or have one glass of a very special port because each bottle is from a small production which means higher quality of selection. Very well explained... More

We enjoyed the port tasting and very light snacks. Our server was very knowledgeable and the location was perfect for us. We did have a more authentic experience across the the river but would recommend this place too!

I am sorry to say, but we thought this was a very average place. It is physically nice, but had a strong smell of damp, and cannot really be called a restaurant ' it just offers some snacks to eat with port. They have a quite limited selection of port makes to try, as they only deal with a few... More
