This place in the core of Porto is perfect for discovering everything Port wine has to offer, and it is plenty ! They offer a lot of tasting possibilities, from 10 to 100 euros and more. You can also have, for 2 extra euros, a taste of matching cheeses from Portugal. As a pure Frenchmen I find it a bit... More

If you are looking for a restaurant, this place is mostly just for snacks between a glass or two or 11 of Port. If you are looking for Ports, this is THE place to visit. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Custom menus also possible. By all means, visit while staying in Porto. :)

This is definitely the best place to learn about Porto wines before you go visit anything else. The owner is very friendly and he gave us full info about everything that we wanted to visit. Here you can enjoy rare Porto wines, have a flight of a selection of different kinds of Porto's and also have some light food to... More

Many different types of Oporto to try accompanied with an expert explanation about the various nuances between them. Light cosy atmosphere, French inspired with friendly service and good prices. A 'must visit' even if you aren't a fan of Oporto wine. Hint: tell them about your preferences on wine, they'll surprise you :)

We stayed at The Guest House Douro right on the Douro River. Jaoa & Carmen sent us to Vinologia: La Maison des Portes. It's magical!! Located on the bottom floor of an old yellow building you might accidentally pass right by it is historic & intimate. Yes, you should visit the other side of the river & see all the... More

We spent a fantastic afternoon in Vinologia! Lots of excellent Ports from smaller producers and useful advise. We thus bought some bottles and it was promised that they will be shipped to us for which we paid an additional 40 EUR. One month, one phone call from our side and three emails (without any reply) later, we still wait for... More

With these two experts we were lucky to get a fine tour to port-wine. They have different style tastings and we take 3 glasses 10 y tawny´s and 3 glasses 20 y tawny´s. An d these bottles was from those winemakers who want to make good port wine. All houses were one´s I´ve never heard, but still to taste -... More

This was our 2nd time to Vinologia. The French owner and the waitress, a young Portuguese woman, are both friendly, talktative and full of helpful suggestions for Porto and the surrounding areas. It's a comfortable little place, and a great place to take a break after a lot of walking. The 10 year dry Tawny was excellent. The selection of... More

Jean-Phillipe and the entire experience was superb. I found this little gem by accident after a long day of walking. It is 100% dedicated to local port. There were fascinating people there from all over the world-most were regulars who come a few times a year due to the experience and the high level of experience Jean-Phillipe and team have.... More

We stumbled accros this quality-looking port tasting establishment and decided to give it a try - and boy we were not disappointed! We had decided to go all out for what had caught our interest udring the obligatory winecellar tours; tawny and Ruby. You either choose the same type of port and the owner will bring you 5-6 different brands,... More
