A delightful surprise

We walked by this gem a few times and the minimalist design stroke us. Usually a good sign (the food is good enough that you don't need to play 'authentic'). We had three tapas (fumero lusitano, ladas e patatas, and fracesinha), wine - that we could choose from the cellar - and a dessert. The... read more

Delicious food, great quality produce. I thoroughly enjoyed the red wine that was recommended it went perfectly with the meat and cheese platter we ordered. The francesinha was top notch and my main was excellent; we only wish we had left room for dessert as they looked fantastic! This is a popular spot, we were lucky to get a table.... More

Found it by chance. We had so far been very unimpressed with the food in Porto. This restaurant was just what was needed. Before this we had been mostly disappointed. Best place we have been to in Porto (have had all our meals out on restaurants for ten days, so we have a few restaurants to compare).

We were looking for a place to eat after visiting the Porto wine association and the lady working there gave the name of this restaurant. We waited 30 minutes for it to open for dinner. What a great experience. The service was very good. I am vegetarian and tried the mixed vegetables place. Amazing! Delicious as I had vegetables cooked... More

If you want a good, unsophisticated restaurant, offside the touristic mainstream take this. Very good dishes and very good service for a realy small price!

We found it occasionally and it was worth it! First day we had very nice dinnerЮ not expencive, tasty, good portions, staff was very friendly! Next day we decided to go there again and we were very surprised! We had lunch only for 7.50 euros and it included: soup, meal ( meat or fish), dessert, espresso and drink was also... More

Stopped in for lunch after passing by and seeing the 7.50 euro lunch menu advertised outside (soup, main course, dessert and coffee - bargain!). Very pleasantly surprised at the quality of food and friendly service. The restaurant decor has a very fresh modern feel about it, which seemed to complement the authentic Portuguese fare. It soon filled up with local... More

Before having dinner at das tripas, we passed it several times on our way to our hotel. It is centrally located in the ribeira district of porto. The small restaurant is definitely worth a try! They have a nice modern Portugese menu with lovely Portugese wines. The roasted bacalhau oven dish with the vegetables and potatoes was good, as well... More

One cold night we were searching for a restaurant near to our hotel accommodations and we discovered this bright little establishment through Trip Advisor. As previously mentioned, the menu is not extensive but, there are several interesting choices and unique dish combinations for all different palettes. Overall, this restaurant was just what we were looking for and we were pleased... More
