On the first floor of a historical site in Porto's downtown, recently opened a small quiet restaurant, called Camafeu. Go back to the times where you had a meal at your grandparent's place, where the decor was romantic but eclectic and where you can indulge yourself on mouth-watering but not-pretentious food.At dinner time, you are invited to stay for a late drink and enjoy, through the big windows, the scenery of the square bellow (Praca Carlos Alberto, named after our late King). We invite you to try the tender Sirloin steak or the Duck with figg jam, or the Prawn porridge among other fabulous appetizers and main-courses. Everybody will love our home-made desserts. Don't forget to ask for the famous Portuguese wine from the Douro region, either it's Port, White or Red.

Delightful

This is a great restaurant - well presented and tasty food, excellent service, very good wine......what's not to like. You may have difficulty finding this first floor restaurant as the street level doorway is small and the signs not very big. But very well worth the extra effort.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a colleague. The food was excellent with just the right sized portions. The wine was also very good. It was all very reasonably priced and the waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. I agree the entrance is not immediately obvious - but it is worth the searxh

Finally a timeless place, a great welcoming by the staff and also by the Menu which is seductive... We had the Portuguese cheese gratin, probably the best I ever had! As main course, I chose the cheese ravioli with a Porto sauce, delicious also... I recommend this restaurant for the simplicity but in the same time the elegance of the... More

This restaurant is located in the night area of Porto not far from the São Bento train station. The place is located at the first floor of a quaint typical building and is not obvious to see from the outside square (Praça Carlos Alberto). The setting is quite fancy but nice: a single room with max. 12 tables and a... More

I had a sumptuous meal in this very intimate restaurant with a nice view of Praça Carlos Alberto. It's a little pricey but it's worth the quality of service and food you get. One of the best in Porto, so far.

Excellent place, warm and cozy environment (belle-époque style), very friendly staff. The menu was predefined due to the occasion (St. Valentine's Day), but the food was exquisite... Makes you want to return and taste whatever is offered on the menu every other day :-). Surely a place to revisit

Restaurant was a bit difficult to find as it was located on the first floor. Service and ambiance was very nice. The restaurant only had 9 tables so it was very charming and warm. My husband had the scallops to start which he said was great as was his octopus main. The seasoning was just right. I had the duck... More

We booked before we left the Uk and totally relied on trip advisor. What a little gem. Hospitality amazing and food equally good, our table was ours for the evening so made it a totally relaxing experience followed by the fireworks in the square, awesome!! This restaurant is a must if your visiting Porto.

We had dinner with awesome atmosphere. Food was delicious and very well presented. Get a reservation as the place is small! Found this place via Tripadvisor!
