On the first floor of a historical site in Porto's downtown, recently opened a small quiet restaurant, called Camafeu. Go back to the times where you had a meal at your grandparent's place, where the decor was romantic but eclectic and where you can indulge yourself on mouth-watering but not-pretentious food.At dinner time, you are invited to stay for a late drink and enjoy, through the big windows, the scenery of the square bellow (Praca Carlos Alberto, named after our late King). We invite you to try the tender Sirloin steak or the Duck with figg jam, or the Prawn porridge among other fabulous appetizers and main-courses. Everybody will love our home-made desserts. Don't forget to ask for the famous Portuguese wine from the Douro region, either it's Port, White or Red.

Cosy, romantic restaurant, ideal for couples or small groups of friends that are not too noisy. Excelent Menu with traditional portuguese cuisine with a modern touch and great presentation. Great Wine list and a very good price-quality rating. I highly recommend it for portuguese people or foreigners staying in the city of Porto. Very central to the hub of bars... More

Camafeu is 'pricey' for Portugese standards but boy did we have a great evening! The service and the dishes were very refined. The restaurant is pretty small and popular so do make a reservation upfront. Would recommend the reinvented Portugese steak and the goat cheese raviolli as main dishes, absolutely delicious. For dessert the hazelnut cream. Do ask the waiters... More

We came to Camafeu for a dinner for 2. The dining room was simply decorated with a few mismatched pieces of furniture and antiques, and had so much charm, character and warmth....extremely welcoming. It was like dining at a friend's place. Service was relaxed and graceful. The food was the best we had in Porto. Both the 'octopus and potato... More

My wife and I read the reviews and were really excited to try another Porto night out after being wowed by Tapabento. The space is quiet light and airy being situated on the second floor and overlooking a square but the food was bland. Perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes but the server said they were house specialties. We also... More

I booked this restaurant for a meal to celebrate my husband's birthday after reading the reviews and was delighted by every aspect of the evening. Don't be put off by having to push open the door and go up the stairs. The dining room is open and airy, the staff friendly and attentive without being over the top and the... More

After struggling to locate the place, as it lies hidden behind an unassuming door, we ascended into a little piece of tasteful heaven, located in a former townhouse. Elegant waiters, elegant food and then elegant flavour to boot? Unbeatable combination.

Just north of Igreja das Carmelitas, you'll find on the first floor of an old house, a nice and romantic decorated room with a few tables. This is Camafeu. With two people looking after you and a limited niumber of other guestes, the service is efficient and very friendly. They really make you feel very welcome and at home. And... More

Even better than our expectations! Do not hesitate, this is a must in porto, if you want to have a romantic dinner! 3 courses and excellent wine together with perfect service and a beautifull accomodation for 90 euro's. We even got a port on the house. We would rate this restaurant 6 stars if possible.

Great restaurant located on the first floor of a terrace house in the midst of the quaint little square and overlooking Parc Carlos Alberto Square. The food on offer was a delight. The atmosphere inch perfect. The wine list bountiful. The staff knowledgeable and attentive. LOVED it and would DEFINITELY recommend it.
