Description: On the first floor of a historical site in Porto's downtown, recently opened a small quiet restaurant, called Camafeu. Go back to the times where you had a meal at your grandparent's place, where the decor was romantic but eclectic and where you can indulge yourself on mouth-watering but not-pretentious food.At dinner time, you are invited to stay for a late drink and enjoy, through the big windows, the scenery of the square bellow (Praca Carlos Alberto, named after our late King). We invite you to try the tender Sirloin steak or the Duck with figg jam, or the Prawn porridge among other fabulous appetizers and main-courses. Everybody will love our home-made desserts. Don't forget to ask for the famous Portuguese wine from the Douro region, either it's Port, White or Red.

I came here on my last night in Porto and would have loved to come back for lunch the following day but unfortunately they are not open for lunch service. The food menu is well thought out with a good variety to cater for most people's preferences, and the restaurant itself has a very cosy feel to it with an... More

We found this restaurant on Tripadvisor and it was a good choice.we ate duck and veal with soup as a starter.the rating is not 5 as the meal was a bit unsalty and although it was very good we expected a bit more based on previous comments.interior of the restaurant is beautiful with a view on small square.i recommend you... Incredible reviews on Trip Advisor (and elsewhere) are well deserved. The Camafeu is a little hard to spot as you walk down the street. Even staff at the bakery across the way couldn't tell us where it was! However, searching a little for the location was worth it. The atmosphere, the food--everything was amazing. We took a very early reservation... More

Our best meal in Portugal. Every dish we had was good or better, and the Dessert Cappuccino was the best dessert that I have had this year. The service was attentive and friendly, the wine recommendations were helpful, the setting was charming. I would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Best meal we had in Portugal and perhaps in our lives. Have the cheese & honey, sausage pastry as appetizers and the pork cheek and the octopus for main dish. It was succulent! Wash it down with some old aged Porto. Reserve before as tables are limited.

My husband had a second business trip in Porto and we visited this restaurant again. It was awesome. You cannot beat the prices, atmosphere and service! Call for a reservation because space is limited.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. The restaurant is upstairs in a very small, romantic setting, Scallops and monkfish were very well prepared. The only part of the meal we found a bit disappointing was dessert. The "carrot cake" on the menu was spongy (think texture of a twinkie) and didn't at all resemble the kind of carrot cake we... My girlfriend took me to Camafeu to celebrate my birthday and i can say it was my best gift! The restaurant is very interesting, because from the outside you can not spot it. It's a fusion between two apartments and the dining room is on the side of a beautiful square, Carlos Alberto. The ambient in intimate, well decorated and... More

We were recommended to go here by a Porto resident. Not cheap by local standards - about 70 Euro for 3 courses wine etc for 2 but absolutely worth every penny. I had pork cheeks with pineapple kebab and vanilla mash which was amazing. Wife had scallop starter which I wanted to grab from her even though my starter was... More
