Good value in a local spot

The place was completely packed so its best advised to make the reservation ahead of time. We were greeted by a very nice gentlemen who explained everything on the menu. The staff in general was very nice. We ordered the pork knee, and house red wine ( pay the extra and pick another wine... read more

We ordered the local specialty with is a ham joint in a cooking pot with potatoes and served with rice. The pot is 15 euros and feeds two people. We also had some very nice wine and dessert. It came to 25 euros for the two of us and we were completely stuffed when we left. Get there around 7... More

Couldn't remember the name of this place - so glad I found it so that I could review it. I ate here 2/3 times during my stay in Porto because the food was so fresh and tasty. Had a fish dish every time. Looked great, tasted amazing, came with plenty of veg and potatoes and only came to around 10... More

From out of town and my local Porto friends brought me here. Pernil is the upper leg of pork, slow cooked in a wood fired oven. I ate twice my weight and reached nirvana. Atmosphere is like a well-lit clean bathroom. Our waiter was awesome - stressed and took multiple cigarette breaks. The samosas are excellent as well.

this is a great restaurant if you like familiar cosy places. It is not fashionable, it is like a REAL portuguese restaurant, full of locals and with very lively service. a huge meal for two was about 35€- Better try the meat specialties!

You wouldn't think about entering if you judged this place from the outside. That would be a mistake. the food was excellent

We went to Porto for a long weekend and stayed around the corner from this restaurant. It would be easy to miss, but I would recommend anyone to give it a try, especially if you want to experience something close to authentically local. The owner takes great trouble to welcome you and will explain the dishes available. The service is... More

A small restaurant near the top of Avenida Dos Aliados, Antunes specialises in traditional Portuguese food. The food is so good that the locals queue to get in, even though it has expanded to the spaces either side of it's original restaurant. We ordered fried sausage and garlic toast for starters - brilliantly cooked medium sausages with a smokey crisp... More

Also a bit more $ for lunch than the cantina-like lunch spots, but very polished and good traditional food. A lovely spot for lunch and people watching on a Saturday!
