Authentic, cozy, tasty

Not gourmet, but flavorful and homey, just like GrandMa used to make... if grandmother were Portuguese and hung old bicycles and what-not from the ceiling. Still, lots of fun with good drink, moderate prices and tasty food. Highlights were mushrooms and prosciutto, "bacalhau com natas" and... read more

Friendly staff , great food , a typical portuguese place! The price is a bit high and staff aknowledge far exceed 2/3 minutes. Still a place to visit in Porto , cedofeita.

Imagine poping in a restaurant where everything but the food is old! Chandeliers, chairs, sound-systems, jars, plates, decorating toys and on and on that your granny could easily have at her place. The smell is not old though, but in fact is delicious because of the amazing traditional Portuguese snacks available on the menu: steaks, soups, codfish, ham, mushrooms, sea... More

Museu D'Avo was completely packed when we got there, but we waited for a bit and got a spot- which was beyond worth it. It's a place where you choose a bunch of dishes and share, and I think that every single dish we chose was absolutely amazing (especially the garlic shrimps!!!). They have fun drinks as well and it's... More

Amazing tapas. I would like to make a very detailed review but truth is everything I had there was tasty and a very good price. Don't miss the bacalhau com natas, typical from Porto, nor the mushrooms with ham. Oh! And great sangria. The place itself is quite small and fun to be in, full of curious objects to look... More

This is a great place to go if yo don;t fancy a full meal. Good choice of tapas, chorizo is set alight when it's served so always a talking point. The mushrooms sadly come straight out of a tin, so avoid them as you will be disappointed! A bit of a hidden gem, can be hard to get a table... More

We would not have come across this lovely tapas bar if it had not been recommended by our Airbnb host. Translated to Grandma's Museum, this dark bar had lots of antiques hanging along the wall. It seemed to be mostly young locals hanging out when we were there. The tapas were delicious and cheap which is what we had been... More

This seems to be one of very few restaurants open on a Sunday in Porto, so we bumped into a few other tourists there that we'd seen earlier in the day! That's not a bad thing though, the tapas were delicious - the Chouriço gets set on fire on the table which is fun, and they do a delicious ceviche... More

Arriving late in the evening we wanted to eat somewhere close to our apartment, we found Museu D'Avo and so glad we did! The waitress who was looking after the whole restaurant, was so helpful when we were trying to select what tapas to have explaining things to us even though every other table in the place was full, everything... Gorgeous little restaurant serving delicious tapas and even better sangria! Very busy and not many staff so expect a bit of a delay being served but don't let that put you off going as it is a great spot for dinner with either friends or a loved one.
