Excellent!!

Really wonderful restaurant! The food was awesome. Tried lots of small plates of tasty Portuguese food. My husband is from Porto and he gave it two thumbs up :). Ambiance is cool and funky with dim lighting (nice for romantic date!). Really liked and hope to return!

We went there on the recommendation of our host. The place is hard to find without the address: the door is very discreet and there is no obvious sign outside. We tried the francesinha and the sausage cooked at the table on a tiny grill, as well as bacalao in cream. All dishes were good, but I have to say... More

I went to Museu D'Avo with my Portuguese friends to try some Portuguese dishes. This is a perfect place to do it cause they serve small dishes in a tapas form. The food was really good and the interior is very cozy. I totally recommend

Friend of ours living in Porto suggested we visit Museu d'Avo because of it's portuguese cuisine. Atmosphere, menu, service - outstanding. Bacalhau con natas - best in Porto. Amazing sangria (wine with ice and fruits), squid salad, calamari. Opened till late night, intimate and originally decorated. Strongly recommended.

Taberna d'Avo (Grandma's Place) is a nice, cosy place with yummy food in a homey ambiance. Nice portions, good prices and smiling and helpful waitresses, no matter how busy they are. It is also a bit studenty place but we enjoyed both the atmosphere and the food and don't forget to order a chorizo as you will get all the... More

This was my 2nd trip to Porto and I couldn't wait to get back to to this restaurant, It was even better than my 1st visit, There was no tables free when we arrived but we had a drink and waited for about 20 mins, no big deal. The food was super tasty, and the white wine sangria wss delicious!... More

I recommend this place for sure. The decoration is quite beautiful and they have an old style which makes the place very cosy and pleasant. If you are looking for typical portuguese food, here is the right place! The price could be a little high perhaps... however the food is good and tasty.

Not gourmet, but flavorful and homey, just like GrandMa used to make... if grandmother were Portuguese and hung old bicycles and what-not from the ceiling. Still, lots of fun with good drink, moderate prices and tasty food. Highlights were mushrooms and prosciutto, "bacalhau com natas" and chocolate cake. Four people, two bottles of wine, at least 8 dishes, two desserts,... More
