Wow! What an incredible BBQ smoked sandwich! Definitely the best pork sandwich I've had outside of America to say the least. Tucked in this tiny dive bar in the city center of Porto this is a place I'll always visit every time I return to Porto -- hopefully I get to come back at some point in the future! It's... More

Once we checked in on our hotel we went to this old-fashioned bar. It's quite famous due to his ham sandwiches or "sande de pernil" in Portuguese. It's a perfect break before you wander around Porto. And it's quite cheap (2.70€ per sandwich). We drank vinho verde as they called their "green wine". Don't miss this spot!

There's not much to say about the place. Normally you have to stay in a queue and wait to be called (take a number first). Then you can ask for a pork sandwich or you can ask for a pork sandwich. Then you can ask for another one... Either way you will not be disappointed. Be aware, the place is... More

It's a rustic place. They served a homemade wine in a no-labeled bottle. But the "sande de pernil" (ham sandwich), with Serra da Estrela cheese is an astonishing achievement.

This place was recommended to us by the landlord of our rental apartment. It's little more than a cafe for local workers and there's always a queue outside especially at lunchtime. But the service is slick and you won't have to wait very long. The pork sandwich is the star of the show, the best I've ever eaten. Absolutely delicious... More

Very traditional, very tasty. Don't expect something fancy, this is a "Tasco", small place, big heart.

Well, to start with, I am not a big pork lover. But... I´ve heard lots of good stuff about Casa Guedes in Oporto and decided to join my friends and check it out. Of course, I chose a traditional dish - Bacalhau (codfish) which was very good. My friends meanwhile were enjoying pork sandwiches and vinho verde de casa which... More

A huge success that has sprouted from social networks and become the quiet establishment of a local Guedes brothers in a 'must'. Especially for young travelers in search of simple meals and at any time of day. The decoys are sandwiches of roast ham, with which it is possible to accommodate the stomach by meager 2.75 euros. It's really worth.... More

The perfect meal!!!! The pork is so delicious... I always added the fantastic cheese to mine. Their homemade vino Verde is delightful. We went 3 times during our stay. Really friendly staff when they aren't run off their feet.
