If you search for typical food for just a little money, you have to go there. Great soups and exceptional sandwiches make the place an everyday stop-by in Porto!!

Went here after seeing the reviews and there was indeed a queue of people out the door. However, the 15 mins wait for the order to be taken at the bar was worth it as the sande de pernil com quejo was amazing. The spicy sauce gives a great taste to the juicy meat and the soft cheese is a... More

Beautiful roast pork sandwich with local cheeses. Excellent value. Try the mixed meat and cheese platter with some sangria. Authentic local food. FAB

Very tasty pork sandwiches. Do mind stopping by and grabbing one or two. I had the regular one and one with melted cheese. Both very good, but I think I liked the regular one more. Very cheap (2.75€ regular 3.75@ with melted cheese). Good spot for a quick lunch or late afternoon snack. It's not a big place, and at... More

After walking uphill for half an hour only to find they are closed on Sunday, we returned the next day and had one of the tastiest pork sandwiches ever. I had mine with the soft, ripe local sheep cheese with a bowl of great house soup and a a glass if vihno verde( soup and wine 1 euro each). Best... More

This corner store sandwich joint is one of those local treasures that seems to be carving (#pork pun) a name for itself as a must-visit eatery for the well informed traveller. The interior is modest with a smattering of cramped tables just off the bar. Outside is a more airy alfresco seating area with umbrellas. The famous pork sandwiches, served... More

A must in Porto. Must try the sandwich of pernil and queijo da Serra with a glass of Espadal wine. Very traditional food.

Loved this place, an absolute must for anyone visiting Porto. The best pork and sheep milk cheese sandwiches ever made! Very austere setting which is very local, does not feel like a touristy place which I really like when travelling.

We were put onto this place by a local and it was seriously good! I highly recommend eating here and get at least 2 sandwiches!

Voted like one of the most typical place in Porto, "Casa Guedes" offers the best sandwiches (SANDES) of the city. The place is very rustic and the food is homemade. I suggest the "Sande de Pernil" (Sandwich of roasted pork with sauce). It isn't a place for lovers of fine cuisine or total hygiene, but it is highly recommended to... More
