Stylish restaurant located in a completely renovated imposing monastery complex in the old city. It has a modern Portuguese cuisine and fantastic wine list. Here are Portuguese classics reinterpreted. Refined and light dishes.

For our trip to Porto we were having a hard time deciding between going to DOP or the Yeatman for dinner. Due to the overwhelmingly positive ratings we picked the DOP. However, the dinner wasn't at all what we expected. First of all, the chef changed the concept of this restaurant offering only a la carte (no more tasting menus... More

We booked to have dinner at Dop on Saturday evening, having noted its many favourable reviews on Trip Advisor. On arrival we were impressed by the warm welcome we received and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very buzzy and relaxed. Our meal was outstanding - we loved the contemporary twist on Portuguese cuisine and the codfish carpaccio and bizarro... More

We stayed in Porto on St.John, a holiday in Porto-town where many shops and restaurants were closed. We discovered the city-sights and walked by the old " Palacio da Bolsa" and found to our delight the best restaurant in Porto in this building. Welcome was polite and warm as can be expected in a Michelin-star restaurant. We decided to eat... More

We visited this restaurant for an unexpectedly great experience. The bizarro pork neck was fantastic, paired with a Portugese wine it was one of the best!

We were recommended to go to this restaurant by the hotel staff. It was a stunningly good dinner. We had the bizarro pork neck, slowly cooked for a ridiculously long time, what a treat! The staff was very friendly, the sommelier unexpectedly fluent in a multiple of languages! All in all an experience we will remember for a long time!

Rui Paula is apparently opening new upscale restaurant in Porto which means he is paying less attention to DOP. Tasting menus no longer offered but a la carte had good choices. Last night in Porto for our group of 6 Canadians. Cuisine not as adventurous as we were led to believe butt beautifully cooked and presented--octopus was excellent--sea bream on... More

Well worth having the tasting menu, seven courses with a different wine to compliment each course, but dont drive afterwards! It was worth the experience and am not sorry we chose this option, but might consider an a la carte option next time!

Holy Hannah!  This may have been the best restaurant we have ever eaten in! The Chef takes Portuguese comfort food and kicks it up a notch making it more elegant.  The francesinha (a famous meat and cheese sandwich from Porto which, apparently, you’re supposed to eat at 4am on the way home from the bar) was terrific and was complemented...
