What would one add to so many positive reviews? Maybe that is is open on Sunday and that, if you have your meal at the bar downstairs, it is even cheaper. Also if you order for two persons and take a "full dose". I can especially recommend the Arroz de Frango, apart from the grilled chicken for which the restaurant... More

Good food, cooked on a barbecue in front of you, quick service and super cheap. Jackpot for backpackers and deservedly so. Other Portuguese staples (bacalao, tripe, calamari) are also on the menu if you are willing to wait and a surprisingly decent wine list. It isn't the fanciest of places but what do you expect for a place called 'Chicken... More

I stumbled upon this restaurant during a torrential downpour in Porto last Saturday afternoon. The row upon row of spit roasting chickens caught my attention and I also liked the fact that the clientele appeared not to made up of tourists. This restaurant is not far from Aliados square but is slightly tucked away in a narrow side-street. I ate... More

Two beers and chicken and chips for two with a salad set us back 16€. Not the most atmospheric of places (think strip lighting and paper tablecloths) but great for having a cheap, authentic dinner.

After downing more than our fair share of fish during our week in Porto, we turned to Tripadvisor for advice on where to get some nice chicken, which where we come from is the stereotypical Portuguese food that you see everywhere. We were directed to Pedro dos Frangos, which was just a 15 minute walk from our hotel. We ate... More

If you like grilled chicken, this is the place. Very large portions , fast service, best chicken I've had in a long time. And for a very good price. We planned to go there once more , but we had to abandon our trip. So if I ever go to Porto again off to Pedro

We choose this from the Lonely Planet guide as my teenage daughter doesn't really like fish which is drawback in Portugal. The chicken and chips was delicious, as were the grilled sardines. The waiters were helpful. I probably wouldn,'t have braved it without reading reviews as downstairs there was a row of men eating at the bar. Upstairs is the... More

During our short holiday we were in restaurant 2 times. Both of times the food was very tasty. And price for 2 people with fish/meat with potatoes, salad and drinks was around 15 euro. The service is also quite nice. Mostly people don\t speak english but they are always opened to help. I can just advice this place to visit.
