Two beers and chicken and chips for two with a salad set us back 16€. Not the most atmospheric of places (think strip lighting and paper tablecloths) but great for having a cheap, authentic dinner.

After downing more than our fair share of fish during our week in Porto, we turned to Tripadvisor for advice on where to get some nice chicken, which where we come from is the stereotypical Portuguese food that you see everywhere. We were directed to Pedro dos Frangos, which was just a 15 minute walk from our hotel. We ate... More

If you like grilled chicken, this is the place. Very large portions , fast service, best chicken I've had in a long time. And for a very good price. We planned to go there once more , but we had to abandon our trip. So if I ever go to Porto again off to Pedro

We choose this from the Lonely Planet guide as my teenage daughter doesn't really like fish which is drawback in Portugal. The chicken and chips was delicious, as were the grilled sardines. The waiters were helpful. I probably wouldn,'t have braved it without reading reviews as downstairs there was a row of men eating at the bar. Upstairs is the... More

During our short holiday we were in restaurant 2 times. Both of times the food was very tasty. And price for 2 people with fish/meat with potatoes, salad and drinks was around 15 euro. The service is also quite nice. Mostly people don\t speak english but they are always opened to help. I can just advice this place to visit.

Only here you can eat genuine Portuguese cuisine in a typical setting and at a price low by the standards of the city center. The specialty is roast chicken but all the dishes are excellent. Choose the suggestions of the day (different every day) and go play it safe. The waiters, apparently gruff, are in reality very helpful (and if... More

Visited this restaurant in May with friends. I used the 'around me' app off my iphone to find a chicken piri piri restaurant and was not disappointed! At street level you walk up and there is a long bar with stools and it was full of people eating and the restaurant itself was upstairs. As we sat down another English... More

Couldn't resist going here after spotting it by chance on last day of our stay. Early morning staff clearing out remains of charcoal ash from the huge grill by the window intrigued us. Going back at lunch time we found the narrow ground floor packed with men eating at the counter and thought we'd never get in. Sent to dining... More

We ate here on our first night in Porto and were not disappointed. We had the whole skewered chicken with chips and salad and it was lovely. We also had a nice bottle of Douro wine and a couple of beers and the bill was still less than 20 euros. The upstairs restaurant, which is a bit basic, soon filled... More

Just had dinner there. Succulent chicken, delicious cod. €35 for 3, inclusive a litre of sangria, wine and dessert. Awesome, definitely go there.
