Cosy spot of the beaten track

Make sure to book in advance and take a taxi. Its about 10 EUR from the City centre. When you arrive, make sure to knock on the door to be invited inside. There are few clues outside to suggest there's a restaurant here. Once on the inside, you find yourself in an oasis of tranquility and coziness... read more

An exceptional dining experience, and the quality of food is certainly there to rival any of the best 'celebrity' chefs is London restaurants. Kind, friendly and knowledgable staff and locally sourced produce and wine make this a must visit for anyone visiting the city

Anyone visiting Porto really must visit Paparico. The food is excellent but it is the décor that makes this dining experience worth while. When you first arrive there is no name outside just a number, you have to knock on the door to get in. You are then led into a living room environment surrounded by strange trinkets collected by... If you happen to be from America and want a different experience at an excellent restaurant, I recommend this place. I say different because they approach a couple of things differently than our restaurants and it's quite enjoyable. First, as you approach the restaurant to enter, you are confused by where the door actually is. You may fumble for a... More

Everything you read is true! Great meal, supreme service. Wait staff was so attentive and helpful. This wss one of the best values from a Michelin Star restaurant my family has ever had and we are foodies. Appetizers waiting as you get seated is a wonderful touch for a hungry group. Each dish was expertly prepared. Order the shrimp appetizer,... More

Strange as the location is out of the center of town not in a fashionable area, the street number is that of the nextdoor restaurant, there is absolutely no signage-it just looks like a private house(knock to be let in) and the main courses were all described as being for two. Excellent as the decor was great- soft lights, no... More

Superb cooking, high-class versions of traditional Portuguese dishes. Very attentive service perhaps overly so, althoug the food came rather too rapidly for our liking. Overall, a wonderful exerience, more about quality than quantity. Would recommend for a "special" event, starter nibbles plus three courses and a bottle of good wine, 160 euros for two of us.

My husband took me there on my 43th birthday. It was a surprise and we went there with our daughter although I think it's more suitable for a romantic dinner. The service is personalized and extremely professional but also very informal. The waiters are really very nice and attentive. The food is absolutely marvelous. It's an expensive restaurant but a... What differentiates it is that they make you feel unique. You have to knock on the door to get in. A warming smile investes you in and offers a drink. You stay in a little room in front of a fireplace before being taken to your table. Meanwhile you relax, there is no hurry, you are somewhere else. Then the... More
