Excellent (and Expensive)

Excellent food, service, wine and ambiance. Although this was our most expensive dining experience during a nine day stay, it was also the best. We booked this restaurant one month in advance for our wedding anniversary. We were first shown to a "blind" corner table. Then were subsequently moved to the other side of the room but still not in the main room. The table starter was good, especially the pate. We then ordered patenescas which were stodgy to the extent of being inedible.... More

It was an amazing experience. Arriving to the outskirts of the city to this little "house" you are instantly greeted at the door and welcomed by one of O Papricos diligent and thoughtful staff members. If you arrive a bit early you can sit in a cozy entrance bar and have a glass of Port or wine. Once seated you... More

Fantastic dinner and excellent overall hospitality. Food is delicious, wine recommendations perfect, service is just right. Room is charming. Need to take a taxi to and from but taxis are inexpensive in Porto. Highly recommend.

I have been at this restaurant with my boyfriend for a romantic dinner. It was the last day of a trip around Portugal. My partner is a chef and both we are from Italy, so we know how is the good food about. The restaurant is absolutely lovely, rustic but sophisticated at the same time. The welcome is warm. The... Amazing! Amazing! Amazing. Deserving of a Michelin star for it's food quality and service. I think the only reason it doesn't have a Michelin star is that it's more in the direction of delivering solid, delicious food rather than creative art pieces. But the service stands up to the best fine dining restaurants I've been to (which includes plenty of... More

We went to O Paparico in June 16. You need to reservation your table. When you come in and look around it is like a home. There are dressed waiters. They gave us a menu and we start. we ordered rib-eye,octopus,shrimp and some desserts. I think it is the most special day with my family. Rib-eye was amazing!!! Octopus was... More

I read many great reviews about this restaurant before our trip to Porto so I was pretty excited beforehand. We arrived in Porto late afternoon and had a reservation for 8:00pm that I had booked a month before. Taxi driver knew exactly where to go. It IS deceiving as there is no sign, just a pair of beautiful doors. You... More

I can only add another 5/5 review to this place. It sort of blew our minds. Discreet setting, lovely rustic interiors, wine-cellar-esque. impeccable service. The the food spoke for itself. O Paparica manages to take local produce, the rustic approach that Portugal has to it's cuisine and channel into an exquisite fine dining experience, at a reasonable price. I am... More

We felt comfortable form the first minute. They served us a delicious bread that we can't just stop eating. Food portions were very reasonable and the taste was outstanding, as well as dessert. To complete this gastronomic experience, we finished with an Oporto wine 20 years. We will definitely recommended it and will come back!
