delicious fresh food with friendly service

enjoyed our frist meal in portugal at this family run palce that was very busy on a friday night. Located close to the riberia it is a small easy to miss restaurant that is run by the family. Food is very fresh, goat melted in your mouth, fish extremely fresh and the service very friendly.

We arrived early at 6pm and had the place to ourselves. This is a very small, family restaurant perched high up in a tiny street, right next to the river. We had the best Caldo verde (soup made with kale and potatoes) and the absolute best octopus. I took the grilled octopus and my wife had the fillet of octopus.... More

I could eat the salad de tomato here every day. Our party of four had two types of fish with a vinho rosado. The proprietor/server was cheerful and did a good job of accommodating tourists who spoke little of his language.

the foods were really good! They serve small plates of some fish etc which were so tasty as well so we ended up paying quite a lot of money compared to other places though. It's just really difficult not to eat those small dishes when served...

We didn't anticipate going to A Grade until our guest house made us a reservation our first night in Porto. We went in with hesitations due to Lonely Planet reviews but I have zero complaints and very glad we trusted the judgement of our hosts. We knew we'd need to pay for the entradas but we choose to enjoy them... More

Recommended by our guest house, this friendly, family run restaurant is tiny. The octopus was fabulous, the lamb/pork perfectly cooked and the atmosphere felt like you were being transported back to your great-grandmother's kitchen. If you're looking for

The food was basic, as Portuguese Restaurant food generally is, but delicious and served with a smile and genuine care for your enjoyment. We asked them to recommend a wine & we only paid for what we drank, approx half a bottle. Incredibly reasonable prices and a great atmosphere. After the meal we were offered a free shot of Port... Up a narrow street, you find this little gem. First thing to keep in mind, this is a mom and pop restaurant- literally. They work at their pace. If you are in hurry, eat somewhere else. Make a reservation!! If you are capable of slowing down, you will enjoy your meal. Octopus is one of their signature dishes, however we... More

I had a feeling this was a place for semi tourist trap, because of its proximity to the river. The reason I went is because a friend said he had some of the best shrimp ever there. My meal...... 1.I had a 10 pm res, and was out the door by 10:30. I felt slightly rushed. 2.The croquettes they brough... More

A friend recommended this tiny restaurant near the river. They only have 6-10 tables but you can stop by earlier in the day to make reservations (and to make sure you can actually locate it). Lovely service by the owners. Adorable atmosphere. Food is really really good but comes with a lot of sides so be careful not to order... More
