Lovely meal in Porto

A friend recommended this tiny restaurant near the river. They only have 6-10 tables but you can stop by earlier in the day to make reservations (and to make sure you can actually locate it). I had a feeling this was a place for semi tourist trap, because of its proximity to the river. The reason I went is because a friend said he had some of the best shrimp ever there. My meal...... 1.I had a 10 pm res, and was out the door by 10:30. I felt slightly rushed. 2.The croquettes they brough... More

A friend found this place recommended in a guide book so we booked six of us for a birthday dinner. Loved the place ! It's tiny, cosy, and we had the best meal of our stay in Porto. The service was charming and attentive and the food was absolutely fantastic.

This small family run restaurant was recommended by a local and was also in Rick Steve's tour book. The restaurant only has six tables, with two to three tables directly outside. This is definitely family owned and operated. While very busy on a Saturday evening, our 8:30 reservation for four was honored, with the owner and his son being so... More

This restaurant was difficult to find initially and very small. It seats about 16-20 people. Take my tip and find the Church St. Nicolau as it is next to it down a tiny side street. The atmosphere is friendly and the head waiter a very cheerful man with a great sense of ease and cheerfulness. He spoke very little English... More

Welcoming staff. Small restaurant with cosy atmosphere, traditional tavern style. Food was excellent, we had the specialty octopus with rice.

A very hospitable restaurant with local dishes. Because it is located near the river it is rather expensive, however the food is traditional and outstanding. The waiter is doing his very best to make the diner as pleasant as possible. Enjoy!

Tucked in a little alley near the Ribeiro river front, A Grade serves great tasting Portuguese food in large portions. This is a family run restaurant and the hospitality the owners poured on us made us feel very at home, more like eating in their home than dining at a restaurant. Highly recommended to anyone who wishes to eat delicious... More

First meal in Porto! We started with starters of Octopus so soft it melted in my mouth. The cod croquette was also tasty. For mains, we had the breaded cod which was a bit tough, too much oil and salty; and the Octopus tentacle which was delicious! Wine was good also, and because it was my bday, I was given... More

Probably the best meal we had in Portugal. We had the potato cabbage soup and the roast pork, both were wonderful. The owner was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this, but be sure to have reservations as they only have 4 tables inside.
