Arrived at 7.30 And greeted very well and were given time to have a drink and the order. The food, we had fish, was excellent and the service was impeccable. The only draw back, which did not bother us, is that the tables are close. We were entertained royally by guitarists and a beautiful singer (Fado). A great experience and... More

The signer was good but not great ...in her favor I will say that was a big room filled... More

I dined here twice, because the hospital where I was working was just around the corner. It's a little touristy because of the location, and the dead giveaway is the multi-lingual menu, but don't let that put you off. The food is as good as any in the area and as seems to be a Porto tradition, the portion size... More

I am always very skeptical of restaurants in tourist areas as most seem to over-charge and underwhelm. We arrived at around 9 PM on a Friday night and the restaurant was extremely busy and packed. We sat outside as the weather was nice and the inside had no tables available. The view of the square was also nice. We were... More

Although this is a very touristy place (not so many Portuguese people come her) we enjoyed our dinner during a Cuban-music-Night at the Cafe Guarany. Wall paintings are great, service is good, although the food we were served was not as described on the menu.

Since it is quite likely that a visitor to Porto will be visiting the impressive Avenida dos Aliados, a kind of reduced imitation of the Champs Elysees on a small scale, it makes sense to take a break for a drink or bite to eat at the Cafe Guarany. The restaurant looks quite impressive, with white table cloths, outside and... More

I stopped off at Guarany and Majestic on the same night and both were wonderful experiences. Out of the two I have to say I favoured Cafe Guarany. This was because it was a bit more open and they had a pianist playing which gave it a wonderful atmosphere. Three of the group had coffee and the other member had... More

Ate here twice, once inside and once outside. Quality of food excellent, service good and amazing value for money. Try the glass of port suggested for your particular dish - it will double your enjoyment!

We went one evening, were pleased with everything so we decided to come back for a fado evening as well. We were not disappointed by anything. Being served in French was not what we were expecting in Porto! Thank you we did appreciate it!
