Good food, great location

Food was good but nothing special or memorable. Service was efficient, friendly and attentive. Interior of restaurant was very nice with exposed rock walls, some of which dates to old roman times. Its location below the Pont de Dom Luis and on upper level of Praca de Ribeiro is special.

Horrible restaurant. The food was terrible, the restaurant was empty and it was a complete tourist trap. Do not go here. I think it used to be good many years ago and hence some nice hotels recommend it but it's awful.

Used to be one of the finest. It's not poison, that's for sure. But it's so disappointing... Defrosted banal food, with outdated wine and a desesperation for service. Don't go. And if you do, have a heart and leave some coins for tip.

Not our first choice for dinner, but recommended by the local hotel. Great location, but no tables outside on the terrace, so inside with families with crying babies - not the best start. Trying our best to enjoy, but the food was very poor - tuna steak had to be returned to kitchen (barely cooked and cold), and steak was... More

Tried this for lunch by chance and had three very good Portuguese tapas-equivalents. Returned for dinner, had good food, good wine, and good service, a delightful evening. The best coffee by far in town. I would gladly return. More expensive than some people might like to pay, but as always, you get what you pay for.

D. Tinto was one of the best picks from our travel guide so we thought that we would give it a go. If you can get a table outside the views are terrific. The food was poor, we didn’t have high expectations but it was typical tourist fare, tepid and poorly presented. Service was poor also. Average prices for the... More

Arrived in Porto and searched for eateries to avoid the vast number of tourist traps along the Douro waterway, found Dom Tonho a very quiet and unassuming place near the end of the strip of restaurants towards the very popular bridge. The food was excellent, we tried the grilled salmon and tuna and could not fault. starters included cured octopus,... More

We had a long, lazy, family lunch here. The view is amazing, with a lovely perspective of the bridge. The food was good, with generous portions. The cheese board to share afterwards was very tasty. Service was good, and quite prompt, but we didnt feel rushed.

We had a really lovely dinner with good service and a nice view on the Douro river. We can recommend the dessert with a good port wine at we end.

This was the Don Tonho on the Porto side of the river, overlooking the path beside the river. We had a great view watching people go by, and enjoying an excellent perch and rice dish for 2. When we first looked for it we missed it as the restaurant is labelled 'DTonho' in italicised script.
