My husband and I enjoyed the perfect "bacalhau of the house" as well as deliciously grilled octopus. The waiters were super friendly and helpful when we had to chose our dishes. They also offer plates for two!

If you are looking for an enjoyable place to eat inside one of the most beautiful places in Porto, Ora Viva is a good option. You wont find a gorgeous or a unique menu, but it sure deserve a visit, and you wont be disappointed if you don't raise you expectations overmuch.

As usual I didn't want to eat at a place for tourists. So I was happy to find Ora Viva. The place is very small and cozy and was full of 100% locals. In fact, they were having a birthday party for someone when I was there. Complete with cake and singing. That was fun to watch. The service here... More

Excellent food and excellent service in a cozy atmosphere. The only thing that would make it better would be to turn the tv off.

You'll have to look for this tiny place one street in from the riverfront but it's definitely worth it! A narrow dining hall that seats a maximum of 28 people, it was already full when we stopped in. A short wait near the door and we were seated. We ordered the day's special cordon bleu and it was delicious! Add... More

This hidden gem is tucked away the winding streets behind the riverfront. There are just about 10 tables, if that, in the whole restaurant. All of them were full when we peeked in, and we were so glad we decided to wait. What first attracted us, was the "prato do dia" of Carne Alentejana. However, by the time we ordered,... More

Wonderful restaurant! The staff is relaxed, happy, interested, efficient. Great food! Try the grilled octopus. With a vinho verde, ponte de lima. And the drunken pear. You will love it!

Great meal. We had the sea bass and butcher steak both were excellent and perfectly cooked. We also ordered one misto salada which was fresh and light and enough to share for two. We had a good bottle of vinho tinta from the Douro valley that we was recommended by the waiter. The wait staff was very attentive and spoke... More

Although in the Old City with lots of tourist traps nearby, this restaurant is a hidden gem. Wonderful ambience, delicious food and excellent and accommodating service!

Affordable , tasty, and fun. While you enjoy your meal, ask your host why every imaginable paper currency is hanging from the ceiling. Bring your Steve's book for a free glass of the best port I had in Porto.
