This is a big restaurant offering great local dishes at very affordable prices. when we tried to order too many dishes because of the low price our waiter strongly recommended we reduce our order which we did and still had way too much food. It is not 5 star dining but it is very acceptable quality at excellent prices frequented... More

This restaurant is well known to tourists, possibly because their wait staff speaks excellent English. We had a very good meal including a salad in our quest for vegetables on the Iberian peninsula. We also had clams and a cheese platter as starters. We had several interesting main courses including tripe with beans and Iberico pork topped with pineapple, accompanied... More

Stopped in for lunch around 3 pm. Excellent grilled chicken with homemade "chips" and veggies. Very good service....did not hover over us but were very attentive and first class. Very reasonable prices, too. We sat upstairs. There is also a downstairs area, and a large side room for larger parties. Recommend you seek out this fine restaurant.

Staff is very kind and helpful. The food is ok. We went in a big group (nearly 40) and the staff was very kind and attentive to everyone. This is not usual for big groups.

My boyfriend and I had our last meal in Porto here - Traditionally cooked cod as well as an octopus starter and soup. Everything was delicious - we wished we had bigger stomachs. To accompany the delicious food was the amazing service. Our server was incredible and treated us better than we have been treated in any other restaurant. An... More

Abadia was highly recommended by our Porto tour guide her favorite preparation of bacalhau douro. We ordered that and also discovered a really amazing porco preto entree, salted and expertly spiced, grilled/charred on the edges, juicy fat, pink on inside, just like a prized steak. We were one of the last in the restaurant, savoring each bite. It came with... More

This is our second visit - we were here in August this year. The welcome was as warm as before and the manner in which one is treated is that of total respect. Good, old fashioned treatment! We were shown to a table without delay and menus presented. A short while elapsed then our orders were taken. A reasonable time,... More

The cod is perfectly well cooked and generously served. You can easily eat one "dose" for two or for three.

We went to this restaurant following the recommendation of many Portuguese friends of my family and we were all very disappointed. It was incredibly noisy and we could hardly hear ourselves speak. Our food was very mediocre - possibly we chose badly - and the service left a lot to be desired. There appeared to be only one waiter for... More
