We arrived today and after consulting both Rick Steve's and TripAdvisor, this was our pick for dinner (and first meal in Portugal) Reading the menu made our mouth water. The servers were very helpful in explaining their portions are huge and would advise us on how to best scale down all our choices so we could enjoy the food. And... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by our local guide and we had dinner there on 13th August 2014. The restaurant is not easy to find and the location is not very appealing but the interior is charming with beautiful tiling. Our meal was very good - steak cooked at the table. However, the portion sizes are very large and... More

A warm welcome was appreciated and we were seated quickly. Menu offered along with some specials. We made our choices and, whilst waiting for our orders, we observed the Staff working. It has to be said that they displayed a level of service I had almost forgotten. Congratulations to the Manager and all his staff! The food was of good... More

We arrived via GPS and found a parking space in front with the assistance of a "local". The greeting was warm, the head waiter was attentive and our waiter was great. The ambiance was great. The Duoro wine was great.

The traditional decor is the perfect background for wonderful meals and good service. They provide traditional Portuguese meals but cooked in a modern way. Overall it provides good value for money meals especially as most dishes can be shared between 2 people.

The food here is traditional made by skillful chefs. Very professional and friendly service. Don't leave without having tried the Portuguese cheese made on their highest mountain! It's a shame they don't export it!

We were recommended this beauty of a restaurant by a taxi driver. Best. Taxi. Driver. Ever. Anyway, the restaurant was fantastic. We got there around 7pm. so we beat the dinner rush, and were given every ounce of attention our waiter had. He even peeled apart the fish, and took out all the bones. The grilled octopus was brilliant, the... More

One of the oldest and most traditional restaurants in Porto. If you want to try the typical dishes of the Portuguese meals this is the place to go. You can have the "Tripas à Moda do Porto", "Cozido à Portuguesa" or the "Cabrito Assado no Forno" all the top traditional dishes of the north of Portugal. The waiters are there... More

Although it was very busy and large, I'd recommend it in a heartbeat. We ordered around eight different dishes, and every single one of them was excellent: the pork, the octopus salad, the cod, the cheese, the fritters...

Had the pork special and it was outstanding! Waiter was so helpful. We have been in Portugal for 2 weeks and thought this was one of your best meals we had. It is a large restaurant in a back alley and it was full! Truly a find.
