Superb delight

In the evening of a steaming hot (36 C) day a more than excellent dinner in the back garden, served by an almost aristocratic couple who speak French and English without a flaw. The pheasant and the partridge were great, the wine as well. Sadly we had only one evening in town, but we'll return to... read more

We stumbled across this restaurant and we were so glad we did. The restaurant and owners had an amazing charm and elegance you don't see very often. We all felt we had stepped back into a time when service was paramount. The food was very good as was the wine at a very affordable price. The owners were so keen... More

Came to Braganca 6th June and had the most memorable meal of this holiday. The food was superb, the house wine was fantastic 4.5 Euros for a caraffe plus desert, no starters. 43euros.The restaurant was Bohemian with classical music! This restaurant is a must! You must experience this, the owners are in their 70s. You can also dine outside with candelabras... More

This is probably the best restaurant in Braganca. The Maitre'd and his wife are charming hosts, the ambiance is evocative of times past and the cuisine is absolutely top class. A must visit if you are in oe near Braganca.

We had lunch here today, and thanks to Tripadvisor. It doesn't look great from outside but treat yourself and go up the stone stairs. It is old school dining at its regional best. The lady serving us was elegant, efficient and lovely, the food was delicious: chestnut soup and grilled beef followed by cheese for him, and chicken soup(bishop's style,... More

Recommended by the hotel we stayed at and also in a book we are using for travelling through Portugal. We ate on a Friday night. We were greeted on arrival and enjoyed white port and local delicacies as a starter and then enjoyed partridge with berries (it says grapes on the menu) and the most delicious veal steak (rare as... This restaurant, in the center of Bragança, is probably one of the best to have an amazing local meal. I went here with my girlfriend and we both enjoyed the food very much. I ate quail with chestnuts and drunked an amazing red wine from Douro and I must say it was delicious! My meal was cooked by the waitress... More

5 stars Went for dinner here with 2 other friends. We all were very satisfied with our orders. The restaurant is beautiful. Table linen, beautiful glasses, candles and chandeliers. Very good house wine. Amazing chocolate cake. Had our coffee around the fire place. We came back the next night for a second round. And will definitely come back in a... More

An amazing restaurant in the centre of Bragança, extremely well located, in a beautiful old house with a very tasty old style decoration and wonderful food! For me the best restaurant in Bragança and definitely worth the visit!!!

Fantastic atmosphere! As you enter the restaurant (it is located on the first floor of an old building in the city centre) the first thing you see are tables with hundreds of books and magazines. You can sit next to the fireplace, enjoy your welcome during and have a chat with the owners, Sr. Desiderio and his wife, Ana Maria,... More
