An amazing and cozy restaurant

We happened upon this place because the restaurant we intended to go was completely full. Solar Bragançano is located in a small square of old Bragança. The building seems to be a manor-house from XVIII century. We were four and we arrived after nine of a very cold winter Saturday. Suddenly, when... read more

If you want excellent original cuisine based in the Portuguese tradition this is the place to go. The ambiance reminds us also of the traditional Portuguese upper class families in their beautiful solares, with cristals and porcelain ware. An unforgettable experience.

I have been to Solar Bragancano a few months ago. I loved the atmosphere and interior- the plates, glassess, tables- everything together creates unforgettable experince. There is also an amazing patio so you can sit and eat outside. The food is very tasty served at high level. Certainly recommend!

It is like travelling back into the 20ies or 30ies: the furniture, the water carafes, the music, interiors and even the style of the waiters. Fresh flowers on each tables, nice temperature in those cold and humid autumn days, and a beautiful building. We had Naco de Vitela and Bife de Vitela, which were just deliciously tasty and very tender.... More

A quaint elegance that surprised us initially but which we subscribed to entirely as we enjoyed the delicious food and wines. The proprietors set the tone of refinement and their expertise is evident. We had the set menu the first night but had to return the following night for the à la carte. Our advice is simply to trust them... More

Outside, the restaurant looks old and unattractive but once you go up the stairs it's totally different. You get overwhelmed by the antique interior and the oldfashioned style. The (older) landlady gives you a warm welcome. The food is good, fine and well presented.Overall, the solar Bragancano is a fine restaurant experience.

The interior is nice (colonial style), yet bit worn. We were welcomed by landlady, explained the menu, nothing to complain about. Her husband came to help with wine selection. He asked where´re we from and then went to search for a CD with Bedřich Smetana (famous Czech composer) and play it to make us feel more homy – nice .... More

Perfect food, perfect wine (we had delightful house wine), perfect desert, perfect atmosphere, perfect owners, perfect service, perfect price!!! It is truly one of the best restaurants in Portugal if you ask me! If you sit in the beautiful garden or in the tasteful salon, you don't want to leave even after you've had all on the menu. We came... More
