I can see why this would be number one on Trip Advisor and we are glad we went one evening the food was of high quality having a great Indian where we live locally we wondered if it would live up to our local but it did and we would visit here again on our next trip.

What a delightful meal. First of all the owner was very friendly and the service was very good as well as food. A good menu with dishes from spicy to mild for a acceptable price. For sure I recommend this restaurant and will visit again.

Came across this small indian restaurant in the centre of Funchal. Appears to only have been open fairly recently. Lovely food and a very friendly owner. Would recommend it highly.

After reading reviews on Tripadvisor, we visited for dinner one night and were pleasantly surprised. Food and staff were excellent and reasonably priced. Went back again before the end of our holiday and will certainly visit again on our return to Funchal

A new find in central Funchal! The Indian House will absolutely delight you. Situated in one of the narrower one way streets close to the seafront, it is well worth searching for. Excellent food and staff. Visited yesterday and going again next week. Unusual in that some dishes have the rice included in the price. Affordable prices.

We were impressed by the reviews and even more impressed by the food and service, both of which were excellent. The proprietor was friendly, the service attentive and the location convenient. My wife had the butter chicken, which was rich and beautifully spiced. I had chicken madras which was also delicious. Highly recommended.
