Great location overlooking the Sea

Food was of a good standard, service was quick and a good and varied choice. Not too pricey at all. The men like the yard of ale, would go back.

The place itself is very pleasant. We called in for drink in the late afternoon on the way back to our hotel and it was virtually empty. It was probably an unfortunate incident but there was a lot of noisy building work going on outside so that you could hardly hear yourself speak. No surprise that we did not stay... More

5 of us went here. The sea terrace was full so say at the front of the establishment. We had s large selection between us. Steak, lamb, tuna, chicken, curry and codfish. All with starters and plenty of beer and wine. Every this was to the usual good standard but the codfish was really full of bones and over cooked... More

We came here for an evening meal, drawn by the home brewed beer, reviews and the friendly guy in lederhosen at the entrance but unfortunately we just didn't think it was particularly good. Everything seemed... well, average. Except the beer which was really good. And as long as you're on the right side of the restaurant the view over the... More

We'd been recommended this venue as a micro brewery. Despite the 'authentic' lederhosen they only offer one alternative beer. Which actually was quite good, but.... The staff didn't seem to have any knowledge of the beers, just this is it! No choice. Unfortunately, there was some loud works going on at either side of this location, so not exactly tranquil... It's easy to be well located in Madeira and to have good fish the value of this restaurant is that they cook it well! On top of that they brew their own beer which is pretty uncommon in Portugal, so if you enjoy beer this is a unique opportunity.

We stopped here on several occasions for a beer as it was about half way between the town and our hotel. A good excuse! There is lots of comfortable seating and it is perfectly situated overlooking the marina. A couple of times we had a light snack too. The cheese and ham salad was particularly good and very reasonably priced.... More

First things first: I am a pretentious Belgian beer drinker, so I associate foreign beer with tasteless flavored water. That being said, I loved the beer from the restaurant's own brewery. I loved it so much that I could even drink it back home. It's very low in alcohol, but rich in taste. It reminded me somewhat of a very... More

Good seafood and service in harbour location. The unique selling point is the onsite micro brewery producing good beer with a clean hoppy taste in German lager style. Attentive staff and prompt food was a bonus on a busy weekday lunch-nearly full that day. Extensive seafood menu at fair prices for location

Stopped here for lunch whilst in central Funchal and we weren't disappointed. The own brew beer was very nice and a change from Coral (you could even order a metre of beer. The mixed meat grill and the grilled Octopus were both very good.
