Stopped here for lunch and to sample their own brewed beer. Food is lovely, their tomato and onion soup with poached egg was the best we had in Funchal, and the beer though cloudy due to being unfiltered is pleasant to try. The only thing letting this venue down at present is the ongoing harbour redevelopment with building work going... More

While the sea front is being rebuilt, this restaurant suffers from the ongoing building works, but its harbour location still gives great views. The house beers (described as cloudy and less fizzy than lager) was a sweet nutty ale with great flavour. We could not do justice to the food which was good quality and high volume. Sir had the... We wanted to like this place, we really did. We're beer aficionados, we like trying new beers whenever we can. Local beers, preferably by micro-breweries. So when we learned about the Beerhouse in Funchal, we just had to pay it a visit. Previous reviews mentioned at least two kinds of beer, and we were planning to taste them all. We... More

This microbrewery delivers the best Madeiran beer on the island. A real oasis after the bland Coral on offer elsewhere. Staff good, seating good. Winelist pretty good too. Food is mid market Madeiran, not outstanding but good value for money. It has a great position adjacent to the marina which at the moment is spoilt by the engineering works to... More

We went there as a result of some of the views on TA and to see if it was worth going back for dinner. We will not be going back. We called in for late morning refreshments and ordered two of their cloudy beers and two fresh orange juices. Views on the beer were mixed and the orange was warm,... More

We always make a point of eating here several times on each visit to the island. The staff are very welcoming and all have been here for years. They look after you very well. The menu is vast, which is usually off-putting; but not here. We have had marvellous fish soups, lovely tuna salads, tasty steaks and great pasta dishes.... More

Home brew looks strange and tastes well strange. Nice enough place and got the views so vibe probably good when busy.
