Great Location

Along Funchal sea front is the Beerhouse where we had lunch with a view of the Queen Mary in the harbour while sat in some white comfy chairs. The beer was the usual small price and the lunches we had were ample and fresh tasting at 7.50 euros each, the menu has pictures which helps selecting a... read more

Stopped by for a beer whilst walking on the promenade. Good location. Strange name. Does sell many beers. Good service and friendly staff

Good food but not the best, not worth a second visit, husband hand fish sandwich which he said was quite tasty, I had stuffed mushroom which were not very warm and tasteless.

Don't be fooled by the name! Beerhouse in my book hints at a place that serves many variaties of this golden liquid. But they serve only their own brew + the standard coral and super bock which you find all over the island. Although their beer was not bad at all, the food was so so. We both ordered tuna... More

We drank here every evening because the beer was much better than the regular fare on offer elsewhere. We also ate here on one occasion and would have been happy to do do again if there wasn't such a range of options to try. The location, sat beside the marina in the evening sun, was very pleasant and the the... More

Annual pilgrimage. Beer is first class. They have now added more seating outside in the sun and menu upgraded. Great place to while away the hours on way down to Funchal centre...or back.....or both

What a disappointment, we visited this establishment as we all agreed that the location is perfect and the view magnificent. Unfortunately the beer that was supposed to be the main attraction was flat and tasteless. we were told that the on site brewery is being revamped and that the beer is brewed off site, not a good enough excuse. There... More

Dropped in here on a Sunday lunch time, attracted by the thought of sitting outside on the deck on a lovely, sunny day. Drinks arrived in reasonable order; the local beer is well worth trying as an alternative to the ubiquitous Coral. However, some fairly simple food took over an hour to arrive & when it came it was pretty... More

Great position, comfortable environment, very good beer, caring service, three very good main fish dishes but the worst beef dish I have ever been served in Madeira. It really was a case of 'chewing on life's gristle' and although I didn't feel like whistling I did get fed up chasing & bouncing bits of it around the plate so gave... More

Great place to enjoy a very tasty beer, or wine, or fresh orange juice, etc. We also wanted a light meal and were pleased to be easily able to share a club sandwich .. beautifully made and presented, and very generous portion each. Nice view of the harbour and marina from tables both outside and in.
