Great setting

Situated on the edge of the Marina a perfect spot for a good evening meal. If you like German beer this is the place to go, brewed on site following traditional German methods.

Looks like a real tourist trap but it honestly isn't, locals eat here a lot (in particular business folks). Has a very refreshing German style cloudy wheat beer brewed on the premises and is the only real ale / proper beer on the island as far as I know. Food is surprisingly good if you go for proper meals &... More

The position is lovely and we ordered steaks which were really tender and came with a good selection of vegetables. The beer though cloudy was good and there was a varied selection of deserts. Spotless loos are always a good indication of hygiene standards and these were excellent. We'll definitely be going there for a meal again.

When I discovered there was a hone brew restaurant in town we made straight for it. We were not disappointed the beer was excellent, their signature dishes come in iron pots, pricey but delicious.

First night came here. Seemed to be a lot of staff but they were hard to find. Beer was ok with nibbles that had to be asked for. The menu with pictures was a real put off and small. Decided to eat else where. Never returned as too many nicer places to go.

We had some drinks here and ate a burger. I assumed this place would have more different kinds of beer but its limited to +-10 choices. It was a large, thick burger which was just enough for us as a lunch.

We visited the Beerhouse as we ventured into Funchal for the first time for late lunch. We both had the espada sandwich and asked for a beer which turned out to be the house cloudy beer. The sandwich was fine and good value and the beer was excellent and a nice contrast to Coral (not that there is anything wrong... More
