A familiar environment in a busy street

Must have the Espada em Vinha d'Alhos. Take into account the suggestions of the house staff: they always recommend the fresher options. Excellent place to experience tradicional cooking at a familiar environment.

Its a small, decrete man and wife restaurant with no menu and no formal invoices. He speaks English and French quite fluently, and she is highly qualified fish and seashell cook. Try the seashells as starter, and the "fish for two" as main course - the open white wine served per glass is ok. To make sure to get a... More

Make sure you get here when it opens as it fills up in minutes! This restaurant is a must on our trips to Madeira. As other reviewers have pointed out, there is no menu you are simply served the best fish you will eat in Funchal. It is run by brother and sister (who cooks while you watch) and the... More

Tiny place, only indoor seating, no menus - the boss explains his specials of the day, which is all seafood and highly recommendable to be followed. All food is fresh, right from the market and grilled by his sister right in front of you - the cooking place is open to the rest of the restaurant. The only reason i... More

Without outside seating it already looked unusual for this part of the 'old town'. The owners serve fish only, every bite worth the reasonable pricing. Let the owners suggest whats best tonight, you won't be disappointed.

Gorgeous fish, freshly cooked. One of the best restaurants in Funchal. Tiny. Uncomfortable stools. No English menu. Give it a whirl - it's just fabulous. Not open Saturday or Sunday nights. Don't bother with limpets (lapas) - they're rubbery
