Don’t be put off by the maitre d' in fancy dress as Mozart

Two things are normally sure to make us avoid a restaurant – bad pictures of food instead of a menu – or – someone outside dressed in a funny costume trying to pull punters in off the street. This restaurant doesn’t have the pictures, but it does have Mozart. However, after avoiding Restaurant... read more

Read about this restaurant on tripadvisor and wasn't sure if would like it..as it was very close to our hotel and they had a table for that evening..booked and was so glad we did. The food and service was brilliant..loved everything we ate and as we both prefer white wine wasn't sure about the wine pairing but they were happy... More

We had already tried their sister Restaurant - Forte, and was so impressed that we immediately booked Mozart on the way back to the hotel to try later in the week. We were not disappointed - and chose their Concept Menu which included wine and was to a high standard, beautiful tastes and excellent value for money. As with Forte... More

Decided to try Mozart since we had such a wonderful time at Do Forte and this is part of the same chain. We found it so fun to have Mr Mozart all dressed up looking after the guests. They have a very good team, organised and friendly. The food was equally good and well presented. They have a different selection... More

This is one of the best restaurants in Funchal. The welcome is second to none and the food is superb. The waiters are brilliant and it is really good value for money. We sat outside on the street so cannot comment on inside and the glass dome, but so so worth a visit. Booking is recommended.

Restaurant has nice ambiance and good location in the old town. That is about it for me. I went with my family and we tried 3 different dishes. I particularly like local scabbard fish so I ordered this as a main course. Oh dear, poor fish, poor me! All dishes were pre cooked maybe a day before or same morning... More

I'm not saying this is the best you can have in Funchal, but it was our best food experience when we visited Madeira for a week in July 2015. We read about the place in one of the brochures at our hotel, which obviously stated that it was a great gourmet restaurant. Brouchures tend to say such things. We thought... More

We had an enjoyable meal there. Good tasty dishes after good aperitif and amuse-bouches, followed by good desserts...

Coming to a place we usually try the restaurants which are among the best in Trip Adviser. We hadn´t reserved a table this Wednesday, but a friendly"Mozart" helped us to find a table outside, since it was a warm evening it was in fact better than inside. A nice glass of bubbling wine was a good start. We tried Duck... More
