Good quality food

My wife and I had a lovely dinner here, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was of good quality though not chilly hot. Chicken curry tasted good but not original tiffen flavour.

Love a curry and have had plenty over the past 40 years or so. Ate here 3 times over the last fortnight and was never disappointed. Staff friendly and courteous. Food timely, plentiful and very rich. If you want a "good old "british" curry" you won't go wrong here.

I take the view that when I am on holiday anything goes. Yes, it is nice to sample the local dishes, the regional delicacies and the flagship foods but every now and again nothing else but a curry will fill the gap. It was very exciting then to find a highly recommended Indian restaurant a mere five minutes from our... More

I returned to the Taj Mahal five years after my visit and it was as good as I remembered. Very good service.

Couldn't fault it! The service was good - attentive but unobtrusive, friendly and courteous. The food was just right from the popadoms and chutneys, to the two bhunas we had (my wife's at a lower heat than mine by request, the roti my wife had, my rice which was excellent, the aloo gobi again just right and their excellent home... This is the worst Indian I have ever been to the food was so bland I thought that I was eating cardboard. As for being spicy food no chance and this was our Hogmany dinner just ruined.

This is another restaurant we return to every time we visit Madeira. When you want a change from Portuguese food, then a good Indian is the answer. The food here is excellent and beautifully presented. The fish curries are particularly delicious. Something for all tastes from mild and fruity and creamy to a little more heat. Wonderful breads and rice... More

The staff were friendly and very pleasant, service not so fast but then again we weren't in a hurry. Ordered a veggie thali which was good but not much rice at all, double the amount would have helped soak up all the dal sauce. My other half had chicken korma and garlic nan which was half the size of those... More

We have been using this place for the last few years and the food and service has always been very good that was until last September when we had a meal and the service just wasn't up to its normal standard and the food was below par, after reading some of latest reviews we were tempted to give it a...
