pvp is a traditional style restaurant, serving regional dishes, fish, meats and a good selection of vegetables. Passion fruit pudding is a must, home made of course. We go to Madeira every January and for several years have been customers at pvp. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The wine selection is second to none as you are surrounded... More

We went here four times during the holiday as it was opposite the hotel and has some of the best LOCAL food in Funchal. Highlight was the Piri Piri Squid which as cooked perfectly each time we had it as were all of the other dishes from snacks to full dinner. They have a very relaxed atmosphere and while they... Very understated restaurant with a excellent selection of both local and international dishes, very attentive staff, ask to see the wine cellar, great selection of Portuguese wines at very reasonable prices, the staff are only to happy to let you sample a bottle and will change it if its not to your taste.

Our first visit and it was delicious , garlic bread as a starter followed by garlic and prawns cooked in butter they were cooked to perfection . again the house wine was some of the best we had tried.

We stayed at the Melia Mare & this became one of our favourite restaurants. They offer a good choice of dishes & wines at reasonable prices. The staff & service was always efficient & friendly. The food is often simple but well cooked & presented.

Cozy place, with many dishes of portuguese cuisine. Great variety of delicious starters. The location is also good, and it’s easy to find a parking space.

The first thing you notice is the fact that this is not an old building yet the owners have managed to make it into an old town tavern, hundreds of wine, Madeira and probably the best whiskey collection outside of Scotland adorn the walls and corners of the place, all for sale. The food is surprisingly good, I would call... More

What a fabulous find. Having a stroll during the day with my family we saw PVP, and crossed the road to take a look at the menu. Orlando came out to advise us on the menu and specials they had to offer. He showed us around the restaurant which from the road looked narrow. To our surprise it was larger... More

The visit on this restaurant was a small adventure. The food was nice and we got it within a few minutes but after service it was impossibel to get in contact with any waiter. We did not get any possibility to order dessert or something more to drink and the funniest thing, we did not get the check. So 40... More
