Lovely meal, good service

Just had a great meal in this restaurant at the back of our hotel. Food really tasty. Staff very welcoming. Prices very reasonable. Our second night of a two week stay so will probably return. We saw other diners come in who had obviously been before - always a good sign.

Had a very good lunch here. Don't let the location put you off. Great staff guided us through their fab seafood menu - tremendous variety of fish dishes - for the more adventurous? - the hot octopus with tomato and onion is a must. (the pig ears - we were advised that these are purely a local delicacy - and... More

Was recommended to try, and as it was close to the hotel, visited mid week. Prices were average, and the place looked inviting. Fairly busy, which is a good sign. Both of us have eaten our selves around Spain and Portugal, and of course Madeira, we understand and enjoy Garlic and Oil, thats why we dine out so much, but... More

This is local to our hotel and is very good. Lot of specials, especially fish. Great service. We asked for wine recommendations and were not ripped off. I would suggest booking. You are not rushed.

We've enjoyed the open space and the big tables that are excellent for couples with kids. The food was very tasty and the desserts were delicious.

Third visit. Previous two visits were both good, including an unreviewed visit last September, so we felt confident in going again. Sadly, this confidence was misplaced, and alarm bells started when the waiter tried to get us to buy the whole bottle of wine instead of the two glasses we ordered. We were told to take what we want and... More

This restaurant is always our first port of call when we stay at the Promenade, it is really handy and the food is first class and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The prawns in garlic are delicious and the steaks are excellent and they will open a bottle of wine and charge you for the amount you drink... More

The garlic shrimps are a must. Take a wine from their own shop. The price is very reasonable. The waiters / waitresses treat you as their friend and let you taste wine for free just to be sure you take what you like. The best restaurant we found in Funchal.

We came across this restaurant by chance and were certainly pleased we had found it! We took the waiter's recommendation of dishes and the Prawns with garlic and chilli were particularly good! We went back there for our last night in Madeira and were greeted like old friends by the staff! I would definitely recommend this place!!

Have visited PVP a few times in the last few visits to Madeira and returned their again during our holiday in May. Lovely restaurant with friendly staff. I loved the pork with garlic and coriander and the sauté potatoes are lovely. For pudding it has to be a waffle with ice cream and fruit not on the menu but they... More
