We were staying at the Pestana hotel, so just a few yards to walk. We had an excellent meal, and the service was really good, the staff were very informative, even brought out the fish to show how fresh it was. I had the Sea Bass and was really excellent and well cooked. We enjoyed the evening so much, we... More

We only managed one visit here but it is ideally placed for all the hotels in the vicinity (Porto Mare, Eden Mare, Melia Mare, Enotel Lido, Pestana Promenade and others. Food is good and very much the norm for here in Madeira. Nothing too formal, just relaxed dining. This is still one place that carries on the "Madeira bread scam"... More

Sat outside at PVP and it was a little too close to the road, but the food and service more than made up for this. Just what we needed after a full day of sightseeing - it's across the road from the Melia Madeira Mare so perfect location!

We stayed at the Melia Madeira Mare hotel opposite and chose Petiscos on our first night. The sea bass was the best I had ever tasted and overall we had a lovely meal in great surroundings. We returned the next night and were eqaully impressed. We then thought we should try somewhere else and that led us us to return... More

We happened upon this traditional and superb restaurant quite by accident and it was our best experience of our holiday. So much so we went twice after we had discovered it. The restaurant grew apparently from being a wine and spirit sales firm, and as a result, they only serve the wine they sell wholesale and retail. Steak and fish... More

The outside of this place is a little uninspiring but the inside is authentic and welcoming. We were on a 7 night stay in one of the big hotels nearby. We ate one night in the hotel and 6 in this restaurant. Lovely fresh fish (the sea bass was excellent) friendly service, good wine and reasonably priced. It suited us... More

If you are looking for a place to enjoy your food while away from home pop into this restaurant. The big test is when you return for your second meal. And we never had a meal that was poor!

Many of the restaurants in Madeira have very similar menus. This restaurant stands out by having a different and more extensive range of dishes. We have eaten here many times over the last five years and found the quality and friendly service a joy.

We called in for a late lunch and the place was not at all brush. Our friend enjoys his wine therefore we first visited the attached wine shop to choose a bottle to have with our meal,a good selection of Portugese wines. He further recommended the Catapana which was superb, my Wife is not a big eater so chose one... More
