A friend recommended this restaurant, and my parents, being local, were doubtful as the restaurant is located in a predominantly tourist area. They were pleasantly surprised. The décor is traditional and bright, and offers both inside or outside seating. The menu offered some interesting meals, including a selection of meze plates which is unusual for Madeira. having arrived late at our hotel we just dumped the cases and went out to find something to eat. This was the first restaurant from our hotel and it looked busy(which to us seemed good) so we gave it a try. Needless to say over our 2 week holiday we went back several times. Food and staff fantastic, the specials... More

Loved the fresh food & ability to vary the menu i.e. sea food linguini replaced with Portuguese meatballs with linguini. Daily Fresh seafood. Friendly staff. Our favourite restaurant.

This restaurant is just on the edge of the more tourist trodden ground ( near the hotels) but is visited by the locals and I can see why. Friendly, excellent food and great value. Strong recommendation.

Came here 5 years ago and it was just as good today as it was then. Friendly helpful staff. Lovely fresh local food at reasonable prices.

Just had a great meal in this restaurant at the back of our hotel. Food really tasty. Staff very welcoming. Prices very reasonable. Our second night of a two week stay so will probably return. We saw other diners come in who had obviously been before - always a good sign.

Had a very good lunch here. Don't let the location put you off. Great staff guided us through their fab seafood menu - tremendous variety of fish dishes - for the more adventurous? - the hot octopus with tomato and onion is a must. (the pig ears - we were advised that these are purely a local delicacy - and... More

Was recommended to try, and as it was close to the hotel, visited mid week. Prices were average, and the place looked inviting. Fairly busy, which is a good sign. Both of us have eaten our selves around Spain and Portugal, and of course Madeira, we understand and enjoy Garlic and Oil, thats why we dine out so much, but... More

This is local to our hotel and is very good. Lot of specials, especially fish. Great service. We asked for wine recommendations and were not ripped off. I would suggest booking. You are not rushed.
