This is one of the places we visit at least twice during our holiday. The food is consistently excellent, wonderfully presented and reasonably priced. The wine is always good too. This restaurant should be further up the list!

I have been eating here on a regular basis since this restaurant opened about 5 years ago. In that time I have been served nothing but excellent food and wine. Obviously they always use good ingredients but what they do with these especially the sauces used in the preparation make the difference. Consistently one of the best places to eat.

Just returned to this wonderful restaurant, on a fine warm October Saturday evening, along with about 40 other people. We both enjoyed the special offer of any 3 courses off the Al-carte menu including wine and water, each of us had different choices, 6 items plus a local rum flavoured drink to clean the palette and a chocolate to finish,... Having been to Funchal many times I have walked past this restaurant on many occasions. Why haven't I eaten there before now I ask myself? Just off the main road near the Lido area [Rua Casa Branca] the restaurant cannot boast that it has that view over the sea or dates back 100 years!! etc!! However, it's setting is pleasant... More

Beautifully presented food from a menu which avoids the long list of tourist dishes. Off the beaten tourist track by just a few metres this was worth the 7 minute walk from the Cliff Bay Hotel. We sat outside for an early evening meal in a bright and very clean area. The service was sharp and friendly. There is not... More

This restaurant on the rue de casa branca serves excellent food, to a standard above many restaurants in the area. Staff are very pleasant and the food was very good value ( go for the option including wine and water). Little options such as home made chocs add to the experience. However, on the Sunday night we visited it was... More

This restaurant produces a consistent high standard from a very good menu. It should be in the top 5 in Madeira. I have been to many of the best ones in madeira and this ranks along side of the Forte in its standard. If you choose from the 3 courses for 20 euros it is very very good value as... More

A good dining experience. Food is fresh and cooked to order. The calamari starter was a lovely dish well presented and not over cooked as to be tough. The highlight though was the scabbard fish with a thyme and courgette crust served with potatoes & vegetables, an excellent dish & my wife enjoyed her chicken breast stuffed with almond cheese.... Three courses with wine and water for €26.50 per person is an excellent deal for dinner. A number of the main courses carry a supplement though but are very tempting. Mango and tomato Tartare for a starter was a delicious combination of flavours. Pineapple flambé in Madeira for pudding was a second highlight for me but all the meal was... More
