Excellent food, plenty of wine, attentive service, what more can you say? The all inclusive option seems to be getting popular on the island and you can't really go wrong. Varied menu but do agree with the sweet potato comment made earlier.

Unfortunately it ended at the door for us. We found that this restaurant is owned by the same organisation as Mozart when I was presented with a Mozart menu card!. We recently dined at this restaurant and had a very enjoyable dinner. The 39 Euro option is excellent value for money and the fillet steak was one of the best I have had in years. Service was on the whole good.We booked but on the night we visited not all the tables were full. Our best meal in Funchal.

We holiday on Madeira twice a year and the Forte is a must on our itinary. Chris is a marvellous host -and charming to boot. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is great - particularly on Fireworks night (Saturdays in June) the view from the Forte overlooking Funchal is quite magical,
