I think that I must have hit this restaurant on a bad day or just been unlucky as my pizza was wet on top and burnt underneath, as was the one served to an adjoining table. It was the worst pizza that I have ever had and to make matters worse the service was totally indifferent. This older waiter gave... More

Located on a street with several restaurants, CASA ITALIA doesn't disappoint and serves an excellent range of dishes at very reasonable prices. What better than to sit out on the small terrace and enjoy great food and drink at great prices. The spaghetti carbonara was like no other I've ever had - thick and very, very creamy, ....so don't order... More

Found this on our first trip to Madeira, it's so good we went back several times. Very friendly efficient service, really excellent food in vast portions. Didn't try the pizzas although they looked great, we went for pastas and risottos. Pork medallions on tagliatelle, and shrimp risotto, both particularly good. House wine very quaffable, plus Coral lager on draught. Just... More

How do you rate restaurants on Tripadvisor? This is not fine dining but it is very flavoursome Italian food well presented by courteous and engaging staff. Everything is cooked to order and the portions are huge. Our grandson's pizza had rabbit shaped "ears" which really amused him. Nice touch. Go to the one near the Eden Mar NOT the one... More

The Casa Italia is an ideal place to eat when you have had enough of fancy restaurants and hotel food. The food is always piping hot, service is typical no nonsense Italian, portions are fantastic. Salad starters are a must and the pastas are superb. Excellent value for money. Good sign...no waiters continually asking if everything is alright with the... More

Casa Italia is a good place to eat. It is not fancy or high-priced. It does offer however good value for the money, quick friendly and honest service, a good location in the Lido tourist area. Pizzas, spaghetti, lasagna are all good choices. The salmon is good too.
