Good service and good quality food. What more could you want?! Traditional food is served and the staff were helpful in choosing wine.

This is one of the best restaurants in Funchal. Fantastic service and lovely food which is reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend and go back again.

Fish of the day was dry. Espetada with banana ok, dessert far too big and left us feeling way too full. Very touristic, if you're into chips and sloppy salad, go ahead! :) Winelist wasn't up to date and the only local wine they had was poor.

We came across this place by chance and it was by far our favourite place of the trip. The staff are friendly and helpful, the place itself is in a lovely location by the park and the food is fantastic. The fresh bread with olives and garlic butter is a good way to start the meal but the starters looked good... More

We had a very nice meal here, it was well cooked (especially the black pig) and the surroundings are pretty nice too. Get a table upstairs if possible. It was a shame we were the only ones in the place after a while, but a nice evening nevertheless.

Many people only look in the Old Town for dining - and that would be a mistake. There are many characterful places in the centre. Don't be put off by the menu outside - it seems plainer than was is actually on offer when you sat down. M persuaded me to go ahead with our booking and she was spot... More

We are in Madeira twice every year and always try to make a trip to this lovely little restaurant on the edge of the gardens. Their menu has a good selection of foods - nothing had ever disappointed us! The whole experience is good - one of the only places that actually ask if you want bread rather than just... More

During our recent fortnight in Funchal we generally ate in the old town but ventured nearer the centre to eat here after seeing it reviewed. It is near the side entrance / exit of Blandy's. The black pork was very tasty and good value, the wine was decanted and service very good generally. We were glad to get a table... More

Intimate restaurant serving straightforward and very tasty food. Reids it isn't but not for the first time we've found some of their guests eating here. Share a joke with Miguel Manuel and the girls, take an ice cold Madeira wine aperitif, fresh tuna followed by passion fruit pudding and relax ! Our favourite city centre restaurant.
