Stunning restaurant. There interior is soo nice. Good good selection of wine. The hamburgar was no hit for me but the starters was very good and same with the Picahna. Very good service too. A bit more expensive then other places but worth the cost in many ways.

Has been eating there 3 times in our week at Madeira. We had 3 different courses of the menu. The beef burger was very nice and not how you imagined to be, I can almost say it's the best meat dish there. The Iberian pork was very nice, tasty and very moist. And there specialty pinchana or how you spell... More

This was one of the restaurants high on our list of priorities for our first visit to Madeira, and we were not at all disappointed. Our starters were excellent, including fantastic king prawns which demonstrate that this restaurant isn't just for meat eaters! For the main course, I had the renowned Pichana, which was superb, whilst my wife had lamb... More

We must have visited this restaurant over a dozen times in the past few years. Always a great experience. If you really enjoy beef then you will not be disappointed. We had octopus (done our way) to start). The thinly sliced New Zealand beef which they come back to your table over and over again till you say enough. They... More

Visited here last year and gave a poor review due to bad service. Gave them a second chance as their excuse last year was a large party of locals. This time, just the same, waited ages for our wine, when others got theirs straight away. Had to chase them for the water. No one came near us to top up... More

My wife and I visited this restaurant twice on our recent trip to Funchal on 25th and 28th November 2014. The restaurant serves Pichana, which is a 3 foot long skewer with 6 thick rump steaks which are cooked to your liking. They bring the skewer to the table and slice off pieces which you collect with tongs. After you... More

The house speciality is pichana. I can only describe it as joints of beef on a three foot skewer bbq'd to perfection and served slice after slice after slice until you can eat no more. Side dishes are french fries, roast potatoes, roast sweet potato, black beans cooked with black pudding, salad, rice and cabbage with bacon. You can have... More

This restaurant is very well known, largely due to it's famous 'Picanha', steak done on a huge skewer. Admittedly, the theatre of seeing a huge amount of steak being carved from a giant skewer is entertaining - at least for the first 2 or 3 times. After that, seeing waiters dashing around the restaurant all evening with these things becomes... More

First looked this place up on TA, so glad we did fab place, quite modern in design with quirks here and there, lovely garlic bread and cheese couvert if you want straight away, presented with their 'wine bible', we pretty much know what we like but decided to put our trust in the main wine man, so knowledgeable, chose for...
