Great food. Friendly staff.

Not very cheap but not too expensive either. A lovely restaurant. We really enjoyed our food - neither of us had the beef but the chicken and pork were great. V tasty indeed. The staff were understated but very friendly and helpful. Probably the best meal out we had on our Madeira holiday.

It serves what the name suggests Beef and Wine. But what beef and what wine, it is an experience like no other. Skewers of beef a metre in length being cut at your table with one peeling off the slices with tongs is not something I have seen or done until now. If you want to see what I mean... More

This was a great night out despite have to sit in the 'smoking room' (who still has them?). Have a great range of side dishes and I enjoyed a large skewer of rump being bought to the table to have fresh meat carved onto the plate! Fab!

We have visited Madeira many of times since 1968. Unfortunately Beef & Wines did not exist in those early days but if it had, we would have swum ashore to eat there as a welcomed menu change from the Royal Mail boat's excellent 6 course menus. At that time the was not a harbour at Funchal capable of accommodating our... More

Great place, great staff. We visit often and we are always happy to come back. I love the steak with onions & cheese.

Food is ok, nothing to get crazy about, wines must be good ones but hard to explore, no recommendations from the waiters, service could be much more better since the reception until the table service. In my opinion no reason to get back again.

This restaurant has 250 wines with 185 by the glass - that has to be a record, surely? Superb selection of the best of Portuguese wine. The beef ain't bad either! Very friendly and attentive service. Go and eat like a lord!

We thoughrly enjoyed this restaurant. The picanha, which many diners choose is excellent. Carved thinly and as much as you like, and also as rare as you like with a variety of vegetable choices ( we had fries and salad, but there are many more interesting choices) , this makes a first class dinner. There is an excellent menu as... More

Modern, contemporary design to enhance the Brazilian dining experience. Reservations are a must, close to our hotel Pestana Carlton. We had the picanha which was delicious choosing rice and black beans to accompany. Plenty of chances for second helpings. Finishing with grilled pineapple to aid digestion apparently after all that meat! My only criticism is that we prefer an 8:30... More
