This is a must visit for visitors to Funchal (unless vegetarians). The standard sliced beef is excellent with continuing visits until you say no more. One person had a steak which did not quite live up to the standards of the rest. Supporting vegetable dishes are tasty and adequate. The service is very attentive and the wine selection is unbelievable... More

There vas good beef, but quite limited menu-list. we get good and frenly service. We visited 2 times in our week and that tells a lott. there is no space always, so it is good to make reservation for hand. we can warmly recommend this reastaurant. the decoration was simple but ok.

Started with garlic bread and local cheese with 4 Madeira. Then 3 beef and 1 confit of duck a bottle of fado a glass of white. Service slick. Atmosphere good. Great decor. Bill about 100 euros for 4. Probably our top meal.

We visited this restaurant twice in one week of our holiday.the food was amazing and well worth the price.all the staff were brilliant and friendly and we got a great recommendation for wine with our meal. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the island and would go back without a doubt.

The best advice has been given by others – make sure you arrive with an appetite and be prepared for a “full” meal. Everything was cooked well – from the Picahna to the champagne risotto – although ithat was very rich and my son could only eat a third of it. The grilled pineapple was a pleasant and tasty addition... More

Healthy sized side dishes and appetizers, unlimited house special(Picahna), vast choice of wine - and a fine list of deserts to boot, if you're up for it! Meat cooked to perfection, very flavorful and juicy. Pair up your desert with a glass of Muscat - or older Madeira wine. Neither would disappoint. ;) Service is swift, albeit with no rushed... More

Exactly as it says on the tin, they serve beef and wines. Excellent selction of wine and they come round with little tasters of the traditional Maderian beef skewers Lovely evening with the girlfriend, excellent atmosphere, very very enjoyable. However... They tend to put the bottles of wine away from you as they like to serve it. Which is fine,... More

Make sure you go with an appetite! Portions are more than healthy, especially if you have the beef carved off the skewer at your table. My starters of prawns in garlic were outstanding, followed by Iberian blackened pork which you could choose what side orders you wanted. The waiters were friendly and attentive and I was offered a taste of... More
