Beautiful scenery. Uncooked scallops but loved the falafels!

This hidden restaurant is entirely rice-based. The menu is quite different and unique-but not as obscure as a fine dining restaurant. It is better suited for couples, adults, and older children, as opposed to families with younger children. The service was very slow but we were given a roll... read more

Just a few steps up the hill from the old town this restaurant offers a great view, a quiet and relaxed ambient and wonderful rice combinations.

Book first to have a table overlooking the sea. Excellent menu for those who are gluten free, vegetarian, menu based mostly around rice as the name suggests.

My wife and I went to Riso because they do a once-a-month (last saturday) "lights out" for climate change meal. All lights turned out - everything candle-light. The menu looked interesting and innovative, so we thought we'd give it a try. We now regret that. The food was mediocre at best. High concept, low execution. (Perhaps unfair after trying just... This hidden restaurant is entirely rice-based. The menu is quite different and unique-but not as obscure as a fine dining restaurant. We dined there in July. The restaurant is set on an open terrace, with glass screens and canvas sails above, on a rocky promontary with magnificent coastal views. Wonderful. The menu is enirely rice-based, so if you don't like rice dishes, tough. We sat and admired the view for a while, and eventually we saw menus and ordered. Wine appeared,... More

We went here from a recommendation by a native to the island else we probably wouldn't have found it. We sat outside on the platform overlooking the ocean as the sun set and had delicious food. I had the 3 fish risotto and my husband had the pork. Both were tasty and generous portions. Staff were attentive without being fussy.... More

Fabulous views from the terrace, and fabulous food. They manage to include rice somewhere into every starter, main course and dessert. Very original. Beautifully cooked, beautifully presented and a welcome difference to the fairly repetitive nature of many of the other restaurants nearby. Pre-book a table outside overlooking the sea. Fabulous to watch the sun go down.

Third visit here because the location at the top of the Los town overlooking the seA is beautiful. If your not a rice fan there is nothing on the menu for you otherwise it's original and well presented. I really like this place.

We came across this restaurant while walking around. It has a seating area which overlooks the sea. Rice is the main ingredient in the dishes, which made it different. The meal was very enjoyable, and we would eat here again next time we come to Funchal. I would recommend it.
