We tried three of the top four restaurants in Funchal this week and this one struck as as superior for a couple of reasons. It offers the €35 Euro menu but also does a €27 version for those who do not want or need the wine. We tried it both ways. The staff were very helpful and even allowed me... More

We enjoyed both meat and fish dishes here - well executed and interesting presentations. It was a little cold and we wish they had closed the doors. More

It was a quiet mid-week evening. We went for the 35 Euro option which includes wines. Food, wine and service were excellent. A fantastic time was had by all. More

The restaurant took a little finding many of the back streets in this area are not marked and it was a little frustrating searching around to find it, but once we... More

Offers an all inclusive €35 formula similar to Do Forte and Mozart. It feels however like a very diferent experience here - more sophisticated, less of a "theme" and (and this was the real surprise) even better food than that of its two main rivals. And the ambience is very special, located in an old salt warehouse with flagstone floors... More

The ginnel was a stone cobbled walkway between 2 very high buildings so the sun was a stranger to this part of Funchal. You can also eat in the restaurant but we wanted the fresh air after a hot day walking around the Botanical gardens. The service in the better restaurants tends to be attentive, bordering on obsequious, but the... More
