Excellent local cuisine

We ate at Armazem do Sal during a week night and loved the intimate setting and live acoustic music on offer. The fish stew, cod and scabbard fish were excellent dishes - everything was well cooked and incredibly tasty. The wine suggestion from the sommelier was in tune with our dining courses... read more

My husband and I went here while on honeymoon in Funchal. A friend had recommended it to us. Everything about the place was amazing. The atmosphere, the service, everything! We took the set menu with wine pairing. The waiter really knew his wines and they were perfect for what we ordered. The whole experience was out of this world. Only... More

My wife and I decided to eat here after seeing really positive reviews on Tripadvisor. I booked via their online reservation system and got a response from the manger very promptly confirming our table. On arrival the restaurant was already busy, but as the tables were nicely spaced the restaurant did not feel crowded. Having seen such high praise we... More

This is our 'go to' favourite restaurant in Madeira. The food is superb either for out or inside dining. Chef must love what he/ she does as we have always had the most exquisite food and wine there. The service is impeccable and staff make sure you have the best gastronomic experience ever. We have tried many restaurants in Madeira... More

Romantic ambience, fabulous food and great service. What more could you want! I had scallops, sirloin, then creme brûlée - all fantastic! Would definitely recommend.

Hard to find restaurant in one of the back streets of Funchal but we'll worth searching out. The building is amazing - housed in a 200 year old Salt Warehouse. Staff are very friendly and the food and wine is fantastic. Great place for a romantic meal or with friends. Would advise booking as very popular. They do a fixed... More

We went for dinner on a Saturday evening towards the end of our holiday. The restaurant is attractive and stylish, the staff were knowledgeable and attentive and the set menu was excellent value. I would highly recommend the menu at €39 to include matched wines, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. As an added bonus there was live music from a... More

We had a round table lunch for the 'Ladies that lunch'. Service was very attentive and food was excellent, including great veggie options.
