We visited Armazem do Sal an evening in early december. We had the luck to get a table though the restaurant was crowed when we came. I don't know how many times we have been there under the years we have visited Madeira. Certainly 10-15 time and we are so happy that they have maintained the high quality and professionalism... There are a number of really good restaurants popping up in Funchal and this is right up there as one of them, has a good concept of fixed price for anything off the menu including wine with every course, fantastic value, fantastic food and the wine was pretty good too. The atmosphere is very friendly and very professional, the food... More

We went there on the 20. and had the 39 euro 3 course menu which includes an appetizer, winemenu and coffee/tee .Everything was perfect. Top-quality food with very good, matching wines. The staff was friendly and very professional. The young waitress Sandra has a lot af humor and personality. Went back a couple of days later and even though it... More

Our first evening in Funchal and we really had no idea where the restaurants were - we seemed to spend ages going round in circles in the centre - not realising that most of the restaurants were in the old town. We were just about to give up and settle for some street food when we came across this restaurant... More

Not often do we choose to spend extra to visit a fancy reataurant, but we did that day, and was wery happy about it. The many waiters had different tasks and in all they shoul make us happy and comfortable, and the succeded. The old room, and the skilled guitarist also helped to make the experience good. The food was... More

A great atmosphere and ambiance but very over priced, quality of portions is poor and the food is not prepared as the customer wants i.e. the steak was over done when it was supposed to be medium rare the lamb chops were rare when they were supposed to be well done. The portions are extremely small. Not good value for... More

Lovely atmosphere, excellent food, and friendly and professional service. I could not have asked for a better experience, especially for the price - absolute bargain for the quality.

We have been here before and once again the food was good, the service could have been a bit quicker but overall it was a nice evening dinner. My husband and I had 3 courses and a bottle of wine just under €100.

No wonder the Armazem do Sal is one of the most popular restaurants in Funchal. Good location in a heart of the city, a real "charmer". The 3-course menu with the wines was an incredible deal of 39 euros and the food was really fantastic! Service and the presentation were excellent, too. Live music was extra bonus and made the...
