A cut above usual Madeiran cuisine yet at standard prices

Extremely good creative cuisine, helpful and friendly staff, a good wine list and all very reasonably priced. Gets booked up so make reservations early.

This is an obvious example of a restaurant where there is someone in charge who really does care and hires a team with quality in mind. Excellent food, very friendly and competent service, reasonable prices and very vice table setup. Not much else to say besides that I would highly recommend it.

Interesting and charming location in a little alley will make the place very inviting. Excellent 3-course dinner with very good value! For gourmet lovers, the "Tasting Menu" is fantastic! Live music in a background is a plus! Good idea to have a reservation! We would go again!

The food here was a different league to the other restaurants that we tried, but was still very good value. The service was excellent, wine was superb and the live guitar player was fabulous, making for a really nice atmosphere. It's not the easiest to find, but well worth the effort and of course, you have to book!

This place was a real find. The presentation, the quality of the food and the brilliant service was far better than we expected for the price. We also thoroughly enjoyed the music provided by Nathan, a lovely lad with a great repertoire of songs, accompanied by his guitar. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed. Be sure to... More

I went dressed for the cold room I experienced last year and it was very warm when we arrived (although it did get colder later on). As a former salt house it is a large room with high ceilings. Good food, I declined the red wine offered with the main course in favour of white. Quite a few dishes were... More

Excellent food in lovely surroundings with a guitarist playing varied background music. Although slightly dearer than some restaurants it is good value because food quality and presentation very good. You can choose a three course meal for 30 Euros or choose one or two courses. House wine was good and service just right. We ate inside as for evening in... More

We found this restaurant last year and could not believe the incredible gourmet food, beautifully presented and the equally incredible service all for the price of €30, or €39 with matching wines!! There are chef tasters at the beginning and in between main and dessert - and each course is a work of art in both presentation and flavours. Now... More

Had a lovely lunch here on our last day in Funchal, so glad we found it. Next time we visit we will head there straight away! What a great place it is.

8 of us had dinner here and opted for the 39 Euro wine flight offer. This proved a great deal especially as the friendly, professional staff were happy to 'top us up' freely. It's in the old town and was one of the few buildings that actually seemed old! As it was my Birthday, a cake appeared which was a... More
