3.5 EUR for just a coffee I've never seen such a silly price in Portugal
Let's strt with bright side: there was a place to sit down in pretty normal conditions, not like in other cafes where everything is so tight.... Great chocolate for drinking, very tasty olives and stinking, strong cheese for prestarter, very good chicken salad with fruits. On the other hand - ripping off prices for unclear and not very helpful service... More
Like I suspect many people we visited Sintra as a day trip on the train from Lisbon. Usual Portugese standard train service (Chaotic queues at Lisbon ticket booths and totally inadequate automated exit gates at Sintra station !). Having strolled around the town for an hour or so we looked for somewhere for a coffee. We went into 3 or... More
If you are looking for a place to have a quick, healthy lunch in Sintra, this is an excellent choice. Actually, we enjoyed it so much that we returned on our second day in town. On the first day, it was pouring rain so we ate inside, in their large dining room. We had wonderful gazpacho, and a fairly good... More
Stay away! The place is a trap which overcharges unwary tourists. Be sure you know EXACTLY what they charge for their coffee and bread with butter. You will be surprised and shocked. This place is a black eye on Sintra. Very disappointed. Only place in Portugal I have experienced this sort of rip off.
BAD SERVICE AND WAY OVERPRICED! We asked for a drink and got something different. Waiters were no help and never checked back with only two tables with customers.
Happened upon this place after a long day spent visiting the wonderful sights in Sintra, and unfortunately didn't look any further. The cost was exorbitant compared to the quality of the meal - we paid almost twice the price of several of our best meals in Lisbon and Porto, and the food was average at best. We were almost the... The menu is extensive. The service was ok. The space large. The food ok. Decent portions, cooked well and ok. The bill to end the meal - humph. Tourist trap? Scam? Rudeness? Not too sure but adding €15 to our simple meal for the bread and cheese they placed on the table unrequested. They are not alone in doing this... More
Our tour guide recommended this restaurant as the best for getting diners in and out, giving us more time to visit Sintra. Six of us, three couples, from our tour group shared a table here. When ordering one woman mentioned that she and her husband would be sharing a dish. The waiter actually snickered at her. All three couples shared... More
The view and atmosphere from outside the restaurant was good and the food was overpriced but average. Watch out for the plate of olives, cheese, butter and bread that will arrive on your table as it will set you back an extra €11.50 which literally wiped out any tip I would have given if the food was better quality. I... More
