A French restaurant in Sintra

The restaurant is oldy worldy looking but the food is great. Manager has very good English and can explain what the dishes are. There ISNT a kids menu. We went twice as we enjoyed it so much. You can have good authentic Portuguese food. My daughters steak was one of the best she had ever had (and she has alot... More

We went to the Cantinho upon suggestion, we were not disappointed. We tried some meat (pork and lamb) and the portions were so big it was difficult to finish everything. Even if we were already stuffed we had to try some dessert, and everybody should do the same! the waiters didn't speak english or spanish or italian but they were... More

This is a very traditional place in a beautiful setting. It is in the Sintra mountain hamlet of Sao Pedro, up a cul-de-sac in a pretty old structure. It is a bit on the elegant side in decor and price. The food was good, portions generous, and it was very busy. While most of my Portugal reviews are 5 stars,... More

The hotel staff recommended this place to us, as it was within walking distance from our hotel. It was billed as typical Portuguese faire: good quality, large quantities. We had an enjoyable time here and the food was actually quite good, particularly the shrimp and garlic appetizer. The staff selected a great local red wine for us to complete the... More

We had a lunch here, a veal steak which was excellent and a Portuguese sausage which tasted a bit weird. The wine was excellent. Service was quick and friendly. they do not accept international credit cards.

This is a typical portuguese restaurant. You will find a place very familiar with a lot of typical Portuguese dishes. The food is very well cooked, the service is very good, the location is near Sintra old town and the price is very low. I definitely recommend this place.

After reading so many positive reviews, we headed for this restaurant for a mid-week lunch. Quaint location, convenient parking, and a warm fire greeted us. And then the food. The soups were tasteless and anchored with too many potatoes, a crab starter tasted like tuna salad in too much mayonnaise, a too dry duck was presented with an orange sauce... More
