We ended up eating here three times during our ten days in Sintra. The staff are friendly and happy and the food is fantastic-simple, tasty, generous portions and homecooked-the sort of food we would be proud to serve to guests if we had cooked at home. Little details like fresh herbs, especially lots of coriander and the garlic added to... More

Excellent service and good service. A restaurant to visit. Nice atmosphere with typical Portuguese food. If you visit Sintra "Tasca do Xico" is a place to go!

Good restaurant located just few steps from the Palacio Real – the main monument in Sintra. We decided for garlic prawns for starter and a seafood rice (arroz de marisco) for two for the main course. All the dishes was fresh, tasty and well-seasoned. There are few floors in this restaurant, so the outside “garden” is not the only option... More

Normally we avoid restaurants on touristy main streets whenever possible and search out places off the beaten path. In this case however, we were looking for somewhere to have a drink and watch a world cup match. We wandered into the tiny downstairs of Tasca do Xico for the game and ended up staying all night. We even came back... More

We stayed in Sintra for a few nights recently and visited here on our first night. Because our trip to Sintra wasn't for long we intended to eat somewhere different every night but ended up here for 3 out of 5!!.... Although the place is in the tourist area it doesn't feel like it.... It was homely and nothing fancy... More

Passed by here into between visiting the sights of Sintra. Service was a little alow to get started but once a couple of waiters swapped shifts it was fine. Had a variety of seafood starters, bread, half a pint of beer and a large house white wine - came to 34 euros. Slightly more than you woukd pay in Lisbon... More

We enjoyed a meal here. Not cheap but nowhere is in the tourist area of Sintra. We enjoyed fish of the day and an amazingly good vegetarian main course which consisted of a healthy mix of green veg, pulses, fried breadcrumbs and herbs - a lot more interesting than it sounds! Would visit again.

This place is in one of those small streets in Sintra. After a day walking we decided to stop here for lunch. The truth is that everything on the menu sounded great and the plates on other tables looked very good so we gave it a try. The service was really slow and the food did not taste as good... More

We stumbled across the Tasca do Xico after a day of hiking around Sintra. There were larger and more touristy places near the main road that we wanted to avoid. My wife had the salmon and prawns and I had a pepper steak, both tasty and reasonably priced. The house white wine can be recommended. There was also a guitar... More
