Excellent Dinner & Server

Came to Dom Pipas on our last night in Sintra. This was one of two restaurants recommended by our B&B host. It was a little difficult to find as we didn't realize that the "road" on Google map was actually a bridge. But we got there and were promptly seated. the restaurant was recommended by our hotel and was very easy to find nearby the train station. Very nice ambiance and service was perfect! Besides a fantastic dinner, bottle of wine and two desserts we spent less than 40€, very reasonable! Meat was cooked perfectly and served with rice and fries. For dessert, I had the rice pudding and my... More

This little restaurant was recommended by a Sintra local. We experienced a wonderful meal and charming ambience. The wine recommended by the waiter (given I didn't have experience with Portuguese wines) was outstanding and complemented the meal so well.

What can I say?? away from the super expensive tourist restaurants and confusion. Dom pipas is a very typical Portuguese restaurant with amazing food and very friendly service. 3 minutes walk from the train station. If you come to Sintra you should give it a try. Fair price and great wine.

The restaurant is located just behind the train station. It had everithing to be great but the entrance is a bit small and not welcoming. The food i had was a bit poor. "Migas de marisco" had almost no marisco (shell fish). The staff should be more warm and welcoming, this would bring more costumers

We went there on the basis of a recommendation we were given in Chalet Saudade where we stayed when visiting Sintra. Luckily we had made a reservation and went early (7 p.m.). By 9 p.m. the restaurant was completely full. We had a VERY nice dinner with a VERY nice Portuguese wine. We finished the bottle on the terrace (2... More

We went here for late lunch (around 3pm) and even though it seemed like they were wrapping up, they were nice enough to serve us food. We ordered grilled salmon and grilled quail. Excellently prepared, filling and very tasty. We came out rather pleased with the food, service and the value. The location is very close to the train station... More

Agree with the remarks about the location away from the tourist centre. This was a very attractive little restaurant by the railway station. It wasn't very busy on an evening in early October. Very friendly staff (but that seems typical of Portugal) and fair prices. The food was average. I had a fish stew which consisted mainly of rice and... More

had dinner yesterday, the food was not bad but definitely not exciting. Atmosphere pleasant, service average, had starters, two fish plates, wine and coffee. 35 €, price ok. As I said, we expected more

We ate there at the suggestion of our hotel staff and it was just a short walk from where we stayed at Hotel Nova Sintra. It is away from the central tourist area so there are mostly local patrons. All four of us enjoyed our entrée choices. The service was excellent even though the restaurant was filled and clearly busy.... More
