English / Spanish comments We have spent 2 weeks in the Obidos area, at the Bom Sucesso Resort (great comments about it, but I will write them in its own section). After wandering around several restaurants, some of them in the Tripadvisor Top 10, I can say that Cantina Criativa was THE BEST in the area without any doubt. Few... More

We had a lovely lunch in this charming convent/restaurant. We ate from both the daily specials and the regular menu - and everything was delicious. The chef himself came out to explain the daily specials - a nice touch! And dont miss out on desert - the honemade icecream was really good. Our kids loved it to as they made... More

We went to Cantina Creative for my Mum's 50th birthday. Filipe the chef opened especially for us and we had the whole place to ourselves. He explained that the convent is now a 'start up nest' full of local, developing businesses. Everything is sourced as locally as possible. We had a delicious set menu including homemade pate, cod fish, and... More

This is the second year we have visited this restaurant, and I am not disappointed with our return journey. In fact the food tonight was just delicious. The service was excellent and the chef made several appearances to ensure our enjoyment. This restaurant is very good for families with young children as they have a few toys for them to... More

We discovered this restaurant (it was recommended to us) last year and I thought it was amazing- a real find! I still like it a lot. I will still go to it next holiday and still recommend it but I must mention a couple of slight reservations after this years mixed experiences. We had lunch there three times this holiday. I... More

Friendly and professional staff! Very beautiful cosy restaurant, you fell like in a family meal! Very good traditional food! You will think you're lost when going to the restaurant, but you're not! Insist on it's pursuit, it is worth it! You should call before you go, they prefer reservations, so they guarantee they can serve you.

Had a pleasant lunch at the Cantina Criativa. Simple but "creative" menu, all the dishes ordered were good The portions are just fair. Service is just regular and menu could be enlarged. It is a good place to visit with children as they can play in the gardens surrounding the convent. Nothing spectacular but still a good option just beside... More

We had very high hopes going in (after reading the many positive reviews on Trip Advisor). Unfortunately we found the meals and service barely middling standard. One dish ordered was the cod fish in corn bread crust - this proved to be a baked dish with 75% diced onions, 25% shredded (chewy) cod. We shared out less than two spoonfuls... More

Dear Caitlin, we thank for your review and are very sorry that you did not have the best experience in your visit to Cantina. We will work on improving our service but there is one or two aspects we would like to clarify: the cod dish has 4 main ingredients: cod, onion, poached cabbage and cornbread with herbs and yes... This restaurant is a few minutes drive from Obidos and is situated in a XVI Century Franciscan Convent. It is very small and has limited seating so it is best to try and book a table to avoid disappointment. The chef provides an imaginative and alternative style of cooking based on traditional Portuguese cuisine. There is a good choice of... More

The convent and it's grounds are quite beatiful and the atmosphere is serene. The food was great! The style was a mix of traditional portuguese dishes with a gourmet twist. The chef/owner was very friendly and you could really see that he has a passion for what he does: everytime he described a dish, he went into the most delicate... More
