Simple, But Delicious Food

We had a lovely lunch at Sinal Vermelho. It's conveniently located in the Bairro Alto. A comfortable and cozy environment with prompt and pleasant service. The menu had a number of daily specials, including local meat and seafood, and a good selection of wines. The prices were very reasonable.

We try to dine here every time we're in beautiful Lisbon. We can always expect friendly smiles, helpful staff, traditional decor with a modern twist and plates with lots of depth of flavor ! From seafood specials to mouthwatering pork wrapped in crispy bacon on a bed of migas, green salads full of color and taste, you can't go wrong.... More

Walked in New Years Eve for dinner. The food was excellent! The staff amazing - friendly and helpful. Location in area with plenty of other restaurants, bars and hotels. Easy to get too. Prices reasonable. Clean and pleasant environment.

I found this restaurant by chance...actually I was looking for some restaurants suggested by my guidebook but I could not find them...it was late and I was starving... The area around is full of restaurants and they are mainly for tourists, I guess....those are the restaurants where the waiters show you the menu outside and invite you to enter...well, I... More

Ate there twice with friends last weekend. Busy with friendly and helpful waiters. Good advice on wines and drank white port for the first time. Veal and fish dishes excellent. (crisps with veal not ideal; most would prefer fried potatoes).

This charming little local restaurant is hidden away in the streets of bario alto. After reading reviews that it gets busy, i swung by around 530 for an early dinner. Like every restaurant in this city, the bread and spread are charged, but unlike my other experiences, the super friendly waiter told me ahead of time. He was a super... More

Average food, high prices. The appetizer which are "on the house" are pretty expensive. The waiter was a snake. We definitely had better places to eat in Baixa or Bairo Alto. The Tripadvisor label it's misleading.

Tipical restaurant with very tipical and gorgeous Portuguese food. Not very expensive, in the middle of Bairro alto. You'll like it

We were not given a drink card and the menu did not consist the price of the beverages. We ordered three beers and finally we payed 20 EUR more than we estimated and expected. It was not a nice experience at all, we felt like they fooled us. Although we had a tasty dinner, it did not worth the price.

Hidden away down a lovely old alleyway, the service was great to start with, including the obligatory breads and cheeses. They were disappointed that we did not want a 3 course lunch, in fact we only wanted there lovely fish soup. The young waiters were very polite but the grumpy owner made it very obvious when we paid that we... More
