Rustic but tasty

Restaurant serves simple but good traditional Portuguese food which felt more of a local type restaurant. The fish soup was full of flavour and the main course of veal and chips was big and delicious. The price was incredibly reasonable compared to other restaurants close to the city centre.

On a recent stay in Lisbon, our second in two years, the owner of the B & B we stayed in took us here for dinner, knowing we were interested in good eating. He knew exactly what he was doing - offering us an excellent opportunity to enjoy very high quality traditional fare with equal standard of wines and service.... More

We had a lovely meal here on our last night in Lisbon. Although the restaurant is quite crowded the service & food are very good

We had to wait to get a table, but once we sat down, it was an amazing experience. Food was veeeery delicious, some of us had codfish, others salmon. The wine offered was excellent. The waiter was very busy as all tables were taken, but still we felt taken good care of.

What made this restaurant particularly stand out for us was the excellent service. The waiter went out of his way to explain that they would bring bread, pate and cheese but you would only be charged for what you ate. Elsewhere we had simply had to learn this by experience. We appreciated this honesty. The food was super too -... More

Went there with my wife - had delicious sea food and a very good local white wine. Friendly staff paying attention to us and a nice athmodphere. Try it if you are in the area but make a reservation call in advance.

Inside of this restaurant is very casual and homey atmosphere. We ate grilled cod and octopus risotto. Both of them were really tasty.

Sinal Vermelho is one of those places were Portuguese food is simply delicious. For me it’s a fact that the place has become better with the passing of time, proving that Portuguese restaurants can also be cosy without being pretentious. From the “pataniscas” to the “arroz de polvo”, “carne de porco à alentejana”, everything is good. The selection of wines... More

This was a great meal at a good restaurant the veal was prepared perfectly, best meat I had in Europe my entire trip. Service lagged a bit as it was a busy evening, but all in all it was a good meal. There is a 23% service charge at this restaurant.

We were staying in Barrio Alto and found this place walking around the city. There is a window on the side street that you can see into the kitchen. What got us to look at the menu was the cleanliness of the kitchen and the professionalism of the staff outside. The place was crowded, but we were able to get... More
