Great food, great service

We chose this restaurant by reading the review. It was almost full at 7:30 pm when the restaurant just opened. We ordered seafood dishes. While waiting, we admired their modern ceramic wall decoration. The waiters are polite and humorous. Most of them speak fluent English. I notice that all the waiters are males while all the cookers back in the... More

Found by chance whilst wandering about on a Monday evening in January. Best rabbit I have ever tasted...really tender with a delicious clam sauce and game chips. My husband had a remarkably succulent swordfish steak. Loved the clean tiled interior and friendly waiters. At one point I was slightly disconcerted to be the only female in the place.....

Booked this restaurant for a dinner with friends to celebrate the New Year. It's always great to have a meal in Bairro Alto and go out for drinks afterwards in that chilled-out neighbourhood, but I never seem to find a nice restaurant to have a good meal. This restaurant just changed my opinion! We arrived late and, although we had... More

Good food, top service and we felt very welcome. There was some misunderstanding when ordering the food and we ended up getting very similar dishes (same type of fish). We complained because we really wanted to try the other fish - we were left with our original dish (it was really good) but we got a small piece of the... More

Our B&B host recommended this place to u for a NYE dinner and party. The restaurant was fully booked. The a la carte dinner was o high quality and the service was fast and very friendly. The NYE party afterwards was very nice.

Sinal Vermelho is one more restaurant in Bairro Alto, not that I would have stopped there if our hotels Concierge would not have recommended it. This would have been a mistake. The food is original and good (try the pork Alentejo style with clams) and the wine recommendations were spot on. In fact I was surprised about the large selection... More

Found this place thanks to a Portuguese friend. The restaurant is not very expensive but the food is great - a wide variety of traditional, local dishes. It's normally pretty crowded, so better make a reservation.

The food is simply delicious and typical, classical Portuguese. Goddo selection of Portuguese wines and classical desserts famously invented by the nuns in the 18th and 19th century in their convents. A very much Portuguese tradition they always give you cheeses , ham and liver pathé as an hors d'oeuvre. Just great as this can simply be your strater (portions... More
