A good place to get some no-fuss well-cooked Portuguese food. Nice atmosphere (but book ahead if coming on a Friday/Saturday night), good service.

If you need a restaurant where you want a very good meal that, no matter what you chose, meat or fish, simple or more elaborate food, try this one. I've been there for years and years, and I have to say that is one of the restaurants I can't live without. Try it, at least once.

This was a recommendation from a lisbon local, and we were not disappointed. Not far from the party streets of Barrio Alto, this restaurant has a good selection of dishes with a fine collection of wine (and port, if that's your fancy). The grilled squid was a highlight in the meal, and the swordfish was very tasty too. The waiter... More

We were pleasantly surprised that the waiters all spoke French and English (we are from Montreal), and they were very welcoming and efficient. But the best part was the food! More than delicious! So tasty with a touch of homemade, that we had to go there another evening as well :) I wish I could comment more on the menu.... More

Very nice place just off the main walkway in the heart of the popular Bario Alto/Chaido area. We had immediate seating for a late lunch and had a very pleasant waiter. The red sangria was a bit too fruity for my taste but it had very nice bits of tropical fruit. A bread basket is offered with plates of fresh... More

Unfortunately, we did not have a chance to taste the food. Apparently, at 10p.m. they have enough other customers, so they did not allow us to stay neither outside nor inside, if we would not order a dinner. Not that we wanted only to drink a juice, but we were not going to have "a dinner", so they asked us... More

SV does not just have some of the most authentic Portuguese food but it is THE MOST delicious Food ever. SV has had their locals coming back for over 20 years. The ambiance is most insane, hectic well choreographed chatter of restaurant life, lived. Just sit back and experience great food, one of the larges and commendable wine selection just... More

We went to Sinal Vermelho without reading any reviews, and I just checked some of the 'terrible' ones - they are all very old (2010 and 2011) and I would think that many things have changed since then. The food was great (we had the sardines and pulpo salad for starters, then the porc and fried calamares) - please try... More

After a recommendation we went to this restaurant where we were served properly and had the chance to order in 4 different languages because the waiters were linguistically talented. We took octupus prepared in two different ways (grilled and roasted) which were both excellent. The only small downer was the Sauerkraut/cabbage which was accompanied by the grilled cuttlefish which, apprently,... More
