We ate in here twice, on both occasions the food and service where very good. I wanted local cuisine, and I was not disappointed, pork and lamb dishes both excellent. Good menu choice, nice relaxed atmosphere, highly recommended. We will go back.

Been coming here for a long time. Service was fantastic, apart from items missing on the bill. Food was below average, with the "Alheira" being served cold and the clams to start being only Luke warm. Will be back, with the hope that it was just a bad night.

I had the squid & clams, my husband had the tuna and our daughter had the veal - all absolutely delicious. Great service - we managed to bag a table outside - brilliant bustly atmosphere. Approx €30 pp. They take reservations inside which on a Fri & Sat I would think are essential. Lovely evening.

Whatever you choose it's always very good. Book if or come earlier. We have been coming here for more than 20 years and it is always a great experience.

Been there for a late lunch (3PM) and it was one of the only restaurants opened in the Bairro Alto neighborhood. Food is amazing, service excellent. Must come back.

Wonderful service - our waiter was really nice and efficient. It's a pity the food wasn't up to this standard. Maybe this is what Portuguese food is meant to be like. I got the calamari with cabbage, capsicum and onion, and it had about a litre of olive oil saturating it. It was way too much for me, but maybe... More

After a long day touring Lisbon, we were originally headed towards a rather nondescript restaurant around the corner from where we were staying, when a tour group of kids pulled in just before we got to the door and we were forced to find another place. Initially cursing our luck, we meandered over to Bairro Alto. After a bewildering choice... More

The restaurant is very well located in the very heart of Bairro Alto area which is the best one in Lisboa to spend your night. It is a simple family run restaurant. The personnel is really nice and make you feel home. The food is delicious and is the typical Portuguese food from the tradition (sardinas, bacalhao, etc...). So if... More

The place isnt dressed up chic like all the ones around it, but that says nothing about the quality of food or service. I was recommended to try this by a native and it was well worth it!!!! I had the rabbit which was amazing. The food was so good I had to try dessert which was some candied egg... More

Every time I visit Lisbon, I make sure I have a meal or two here at this lovely restaurant.Since my last visit it has been refurbished inside and has beautiful new tiles on the walls, a maze of colorful plates with a shadow box theme of artwork blended with the traditional artwork from the generations long past. It's bright, cozy... More
