This is near the Parliament building. You ring a bell to enter and they are open daily from 7pm-2am. The steaks were very well prepared and the side dishes were excellent. It was one of the more expensive restaurants we ate at while in Lisbon but we certainly enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

It took us some time to find this restaurant as the facade is very neutral, and you have to ring the doorbell to get in. Once inside you're taken back to another time (even if the restaurant is from 1982). We had the steak (fillet mignon) and a sandwich. Fillet mignon is good, if not "best ever" as some other... More

Yes, yes, yes this is the place to go if you respect your steak. Oh was that a treat. One of the best ones ever, I kid you not. Please do visit this place and please do not be cheap and go for the 18 euro steak. You HAVE TO get the 25 euro Do Lombo (fillet mignon) with an... More

Cafe de Sao Bento was a delightful find on an out of the way street in the bairro alto section. The exterior of the restaurant has no views of the inside, and a doorbell must be rung to be admitted. When we walked inside we were welcomed to a speakeasy type steakhouse of the 50s with upholstered red chairs and... More

We were advised by our hotel to eat in this restaurant for good meat. Indeed, we had great filet mignon and sirloin along with a good Portuguese red wine. This is a very intimate restaurant with a pleasant athmosphere. We had a great time.

This is a lovely, small restaurant spread over 2 floors. Non smoking tables are upstairs. Ring the highly polished brass doorbell and and enter what feels like an exclusive gentleman's club. We had some nice bread, a cheese starter and some Filet Mignon, with nice crisps, chips and some veg sides. It's not the most glamorous food in the world,... More

Although the menu is limited, no-one except steak lovers is going to come here and you will not be disappointed. The staff are fantastic. The steaks were extremely tender and cooked perfectly. The local wine was delicious, and even the dessert could not be faulted. For meat lovers I recommended seeking this place out, you will not be disappointed. As... More

Finding it was fun. It's just a closed door with a notice to ring the bell. But as soon as the door was answered we knew we'd make a good choice. The only mains are steaks. Filet or sirloin. We both had filet and they were great. A real traditional steak house. Worth a visit b
