The walk to the restaurant through the winding streets of Alfama in the dark was atmospheric and fun. In addition to the wonderful food, the restaurant space is really lovely, and the staff were courteous and professional. A great dinner in a special place.

Very nice local food in the old town. Take a walk through the old city and land here for a nice traditional meal. The restaurant is small and full of pictures of celebrities who have visited. Definitely a nice place to have a meal.

The most helpful and friendly service added to the charm of the outdoor seating, under the vines with a view of the eponymous Santo Antonio church and the surrounding buildings are good enough reasons for visiting this restaurant, but we went twice in our week in Lisbon because the food was good - usual reason for going to a restaurant!... Cold potato skins, salty duck and steak, nope not my taste. I never give anywhere less than four but this was send me six glasses of water salty not willing to gamble 6.50 euros on dessert salty! Duck was cold too! Steak was warm enough but salty!!! House wine fine. Food? If salt reduced by 75% probably ok. Begin with... More

My wife and i visited here one evening around 8. At that time, the restaurant was not full, but it quickly filled up and was full by 9. The menu has many choices from both starters and entrees. I had one of the sausage choices--excellent Portuguese entree, delicious. The frites that came with it had to be some of the... More

this restaurant is listed in a number of guidebooks and can be a bit touristy. that said, the staff speaks excellent English, Spanish and portuguese. the food was decent (the pepper soup was excellent and i enjoyed my pasta). in the warmer months they have a cute terrasse. it was a nice place to stop while exploring the maze which... Terrible tapas, I cannot think of ANYTHING good to write about this place; if you are from England and you have some semblance of good food taste, please do not even attempt it. Appalling But the wine was ok......go somewhere else......

We stayed four nights in Lisbon in the Alfama district. This restaurant was a few minute walk from our hotel, Palacete Chafariz D'El Rei (fantastic!), and took us two attempts to get a reservation (weekends are BUSY!). We went on a Sunday evening, terrace dining was closed, but no matter, the interior presents a comfortable ambiance. The host / manager... More
