This is a great restaurant. It's tucked away and has a very nice patio where one can sit outside and enjoy a great meal. I would recommend the grilled fish which was very fresh and tasty. Maybe a little heavy on the olive oil front. Definitely worth a visit.

...many of the tourist-friendly restaurants in Alfama. Prawns, bacalhao gratin and hearty blood sausage were all simply and mostly well prepared. The sausage was a little dry and tough from having been baked but I suspect this is how it's traditionally served and the north African spicing was delicious. The staff were all friendly and the outside seating environment is... More

The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance, and the service is great. We had a wonderful bottle of Vinho Verde, however I agree with some other reviewers that there is an air of complacency as the food was fairly average. We had the night before ate better food for two thirds the price. However great district and the best jazz buskers!

Expect to wait if you come here without a booking during full season. Not really an issue the place is really nice and the staff friendly. The food is expensive by Lisbon standard though, this would not be an issue if it were tasty. The blood sausage was cold and tasteless (expect for cumin). The cod gratin was decent but... More

We had dinner in Santo Antonio last night and loved it. The terrace is pretty, the staff excellent and the food delicious! Great vegetarian options which are hard to find in Portugal. I would definitely recommend!

Very romantic restaurant. It is not like the other touristy restaurants in Alfama and thank god no Fado! Delicious food but we would recommend to stick with the starters (2 or 3) that's more than enough. However, the main courses are also really good (we ate here 2 nights because of the delicious food)!!

Deep in the heart of the Alfama, this restaurant is worth the trek through the narrow streets (in fact, that's part of the charm). The restaurant itself is charming, with tons of signed pictures on the walls and a nice patio for dining al fresco. We had excellent service, and the Portuguese fare was delicious and excellently prepared. It does... More

We had heard some good reviews of this restaurant, so went there on a Tuesday afternoon at close to 1 pm. It said it opened at 12, but the door was closed, and even if someone was inside they ignored us! So then on Friday we went there again, this time arriving at 3:15 pm, people were sitting outside eating,... More

Chosen by our tour guide, who lives nearby, this restaurant proved to a very good introduction to Portuguese food in a congenial and informal atmosphere. The walls are filled with celebrity photos (referenced in the menu) and the owner/server was friendly and helpful (explaining the difference between Sagres and Super Bock drinkers) but staying out of football debates. Everyone was... More

Tempted by the choice of vegetarian choice (so difficult to find anywhere in Portuguese restaurants) we head to Santo Antonio. It was the best veggi food I have had in Portugal. Ok, I was hungry, lived on cheese, olives and bread for a while and missed proper warm veggi dish... Have to admit, tapas were huge but too expensive. Fried... More
