Good food but very expensive drinks

Good food but you have to wait al least 45 min in the street to get a table, meanwhile you wait 45 minutes and they charge you at least 6 euros or more for a normal wine, when in the rest of the restaurants is more less of this price. I will never come back again, thats for sure

If I had read some of the reviews on Tripadvisor before I went, I would not have come to this restaurant. I stumbled upon this restaurant and decided to try since not many restaurants in this area are open for lunch. The grilled octopus was fabulous and the house wine was all right. Service was good for me, but I... More

The atmosphere was very touristy inside. The most expensive dinner on our journey, and worst overall at the same time. Worst food. Especially the shrimps in red rice was a lousy performance. Cambell's tomato soup with overcooked rice and a few shrimps. Cannot recommend.

Definitely one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in all of Europe. And we hope some tourists actually read this BEFORE going there. My girlfriend and I had been walking through beautiful Bairro Alto in afternoon and saw this place with nice seating right on street and had seen people eating clams and shrimp. We came back around near... More

Myself and 2 friends (one a local) ate here one evening. We waited outside for a table, then when one was available, we sat at it, which the staff weren't happy about. They grumpily prepared the table then brought 3 plates of appetizers, which we didnt eat, but they charged us for! Luckily my local friend speaks Portuguese so she... More

The wine selection was great and so was the location, in the middle of a buzzing alley. The good part stops there. The service started ok, but turned outright arrogant as the dinner continued. Bread was removed while we were eating it. Dessert menues were placed in our hands without previously asking. The bill was placed at our table without... More

We had chicken and roasted duck and it was really good. For desert, the pear in port wine sauce, it was delicious. The service is excellent and you feel welcome. A place to recommend.

As the title says, do not eat the bread stew. I cannot think of a worse meal I've ever eaten in a restaurant. Oily, flavorless mush with the consistency of vomit. I cannot pass judgment on any of the other entrees so I won't suggest to completely steer clear of this place, but I am not a particularly picky eater... More

Its difficult to find a good restaurant in the middle of the dining area of Lisbon. This is a good one. Great service and good local food. Open till late.

I had been to Alfaia on a prior visit to Lisbon more than 10 years ago, and was reluctant to go back after reading the more recent reviews below. I'm glad we went anyhow, because we had a very nice lunch there. It is true that everything put on the table as 'couvert' is individually charge and relatively expensive, but... More
