Title says it all really. Careful when they put bread etc on the table, anything you touch you pay for and its very expensive for what it is. Wife went for salmon, I had the sea bass. Both meals were ok, but if I'm honest nothing worth writing home about. They ram as many people in as possible... read more

Went here because it looked busy and the menu looked good. We chose to eat inside because it was windy. We were put on a terrible tiny table. The service was very rushed. They put down a lot of starters (breads, cheeses, olives) without us asking. We tucked into a couple before seeing the menu and realising these were ridiculously... More

We went here for an early dinner after a long day of sightseeing because it was the only restaurant in open Bairro Alto before seven o’clock. The service was unfriendly and slow, the food looked awful and tasted even worse. But still this was the most expensive place we dined in during our vacation!! Just avoid this place at all... More

Delicious Portuguese food, chef's suggestions are a must. Fresh fish dishes in big portions, starters are many and very tasty. Excellent service. Much recommended to escape the touristy noise of Bairro Alto and find some taste of the local!

We had a couple of meals during the evenings here. The food is good and reasonably priced, the staff are polite and helpful, and the atmosphere quaint and traditional, even if the tables are rather jammed into a too-small space. The problem with the Alfaia is that they allow their patrons to smoke at the table. There appears to be... More

Our group of 12 arrived quite late in the evening and were immediately made welcome by the staff who arranged a large round table for us. It was very busy with a vibrant atmosphere, service was efficient and excellent, our waiter was very helpful in explaining the various dishes. Would recommend the monkfish, seabass and suckling pig. The house wine... More

We really enjoyed our jamon iberico and grilled sardines here. Cute interior space with lots of charm. Not the most attentive service but we finally got a smile before we left.

I went to Alfaia by chance.. the menu outside the restaurant had interesting prices and the restaurant had a good atmosphere...I chose a grilled beef (12.00 €) and my girfriend one vegetarian plate (9.00 €). No wine, only 2 bottles of half litre water (3 euros each), no dessert or coffee. Total price 49.05 €. We had to pay 22... More

I can't find enough superlatives to describe this fantastic little corner restaurant in The Old Town of Lisbon, Bairro Alto. If you want the best Bacalhau (traditional Portuguese cod fish) and everyday using a different recipe... this is the place!!! The owners are young, friendly, with great choices of wine and appetizers. Sophisticated staff to serve you not only in... More

Was here last year at around the same time and can't remember having such a poor culinary experience. Not to mention the fact that, for some bizarre reason, as there are laws against this, that they allow patrons to smoke. I thought I was back in the 70's. The smoking alone made for a very unpleasant experience. The owners should... More
