We enjoyed the outdoor seating at this restaurant in the Bario. The fish and sides were perfect. Best of all was Seeing and being part of the Bario vibe. Waiters were friendly and provided a menus in English . We loved the no rush atmosphere.

The restaurant is in a good location, but the food is mediocre. Prices are too high for what they deliver. The fish if my wife was not cooked freshly. I had vegetables with olive oil with bread mix. It was not very well done. Service is like the food. Avoid it.

We tried the restaurant due to the high review score but we were not impressed. We are not fussy eaters, if the food is tasty we can leave aside other inconveniences but this was not the case. Food was not very good, prices for the wine were high, the good part about it was the service which was attentive and... More

Very good food, attentive and cheerful service (one junior fella had been on the job for a mere 8 days), good suggestions, wine was fine (a bit pricey by Lisbon standards but still a bargain by Canadian standards), and the atmosphere was good. I had the pork cheeks, which were incredibly tasty; my companion had the seafood and rice dish... More

We stopped here on the way to another restaurant which was unfortunately closed (it was holy week). The food was fine - nothing spectacular. When they bring the olives, bread and cheese, take what you want and ask them to take what you don't want because you will be charged for anything you touch. We only ate the olives but... More

Jut dropped into a random Bairro Alto restaurant for an unpretentious lunch after a long walk. They advertised €12 or so for the daily menu at the entrance, so it felt OK. We were first offered a range of apps (for fee); not interested. After we asked for the daily menu, it wasn't the same as on the entrance, and... More

I was recommended to go here by a native of Lisbon, I arrived without a reservation and was given a small table facing the room after a few minutes wait. I had a couple of the various apps placed on the table, decent quality and they didn't charge that much for them. I started with 2 giant prawns in garlic... More

We went there on the last night of our trip. It was a celebratory meal, and we were in a good mood. I went to the toilette to wash my hands, came back, and found food on our table: bread, cheese, meat, butter. Naively, I ate some, only to realize that the food wasn't gratis. When I told the manager... More

A nice-looking restaurant where a thought-through interior design. Seafood is fresh - grilled octopus was delicious as well as the side vegetables, clams also quite good. They did try to add bread to the bill even though we said at the beginning that we didn't want any, but removed it without any bargaining after we pointed it out (I guess... More

For all you fellow travelers out there looking for an authentic, local dining experience, please add Alfaia to your list. Found it through window shopping menus, so this is a bit of a discovery versus a hotel recommendation and the like where maybe folks have a self interest. The service was terrific - none of that tourists-are-pariahs condescension one may encounter....
