Japanese 5* in Lisbon

Guaranteed the best Japanese in Portugal and very good anywhere in the world. The space is not very pretty but the food is superlative. We ate and recommend the braised tuna, snapper slices over ice with miso sauce, the tuna sashimi and otoro. And do not forget to try the desserts. Totally a must... read more

Excellent sushi and sashimi. My favourite sushi in the Lisbon area. Genuine Japanese experienced maitre and it shows. Unpretentious, location not central, but easy to park. Decent prices.

This was a good relief from bad and/or fusion Japanese foods that abound in Lisbon area. We had a very nice and authentic meal here. We tried several appetizers (chawanmushi, nikuno tataki, ika mentaiko), sushi (chirashi), grilled meats (gyu shogayaki), and noodles (kitsune udon). All the diners were happy. The chirashi was very good, with several chuutoro (medium fatty tuna)... More

This restaurant has as its chef a previous cook form the Japanese Embassy in Lisbon. The surroundings are not the most japanese atmosphere, but the food is really good!

This restaurant is about 5 minutes (by car or cab) from the Hotel we stayed at (the Holiday Inn Express Alfragide). A young couple we met by chance in Lisbon told us about it and we were delighted to discover this hardcore Japanese restaurant (meaning, nothing of that fusion horrible stuff with mayo and fruit) with the freshest fish. The... More

Like other reviewers I must also say that this restaurant sell very fresh ingredients in the true japanese tradition. However it's quite expensive regarding all the other things that should make a good restaurant. Naphthalene ball's in a 'puk rock gig style wc' and the cold atmosphere of the place headed by the no feelings/professional chef allied to some dirt... More

Tomo is THE BEST japanese restaurant in Lisbon. Small, cozy in space but big in quality: the fish always fresh and tasty which gives us an excellent sashimi. Put yoursel on the hands of the chef and you'll enjoy an unforgettable meal
