Visited this place on our last trip to Lisbon & really looking forward to another visit but was a little underwhelmed. The food was lovely & surroundings hadnt changed but the service really let them down. Very false & sometimes bit rude. Shame.

This place rescued the first night of our holiday. We were trailing around, not finding anywhere to eat yet in a part of Lisbon where things tend to open late, tired, hungry and increasingly fretful, and then we came across this lovely, informal, relaxing café, with big tables, armchairs etc, and friendly service. A couple of drinks and an excellent... More

Do not be warded off by the several bad reviews of the pois cafe. We came here for lunch in Lisbon at around 2 o clock and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious. I had a toasted sandwich with delicious nutty toasted brown bread, basil pesto, juicy tomatoes and mozzarella. The salad that came with it was also... More

We went to the Pois Cafe for Breakfast. It was recommended in the Lonely Planet travel guide. We were really disappointed about the quantity and quality of the breakfast we ordered. The price was too high for what we got and the service was poor (Coffee and juices came 30 minutes after the breakfast).

We ate some lunch at this trendy cafe. Best part of the experience actually was the atmosphere of the place. Service was not great nor bad. We ordered some 'tapas': bread with 4 different dips. Some were tasty like the tuna salad, others were done poorly: the humus was just chopped chickpeas (missing was garlic, herbs, tahina, pretty much all... More

The location is excellent, the interior agreeable and the service friendly. Unfortunately that's about it. I had the home made ice tea which was tasteless but over 3 Euro. The toasted sandwich was small and the salad uninspiring and the sauce thick and full of honey. I couldn't find anything remotely Portuguese on the menu but various Austrian things for... More

Great atmosphere and lovely food. Prices are very reasonable, would definitely recommend this place. We had the toasties and mixed tapas which were both lovely!! The staff were great and nothing was too much trouble.

One of the best meals I had in Lisboa was at Pois Cafe, in Alfama, which is the old city, the neighborhood surrounding the castle. Pois reminded me of Tryst in Washington, DC -- a laid-back coffee shop atmosphere, mis-matching tables and chairs, and couches and armchairs, but the food was way better than at Tryst. I had fresh OJ,... More

One of my favorite cafés in Lisbon. Small one, but you know that size doesn't matter. It has kind of soul. A lot of colorful stuff around, everywhere, make it look cute. Cool place to be in!

We stopped for lunch and tried a sandwich, frittata and soup off the menu. The two main items were very disapppointing, the soup was good, although not creamy as advertised. Too bad as it is a comfortable space. But the music and chairs shouldnt be the best part of a restaurant. Best to be avoided.
