Very fresh food...at a price

Fresh seafood, very busy restaurant, nice night out but quite expensive (140 eur for two> main + wine, and a coffee). Had the tiger shrimps, big and tasty.

The food is unmistakably very good - we had 'common' crab and medium prawns and weren't at all disappointed with the quality or the quantity. This is not a touristy restaurant but a little more authentic, and a good 5-10 minute walk from the city centre, and there was a slight language challenge, but that's because we don't speak the... We passed this on our way to the old town and, hungry from our flight, decided to have lunch here. It was a s funny day so we sat outdoors, only to be covered by leaves and seeds blown off the nearby trees. There is a collection of market stalls nearby and they have an amplifier blasting out really dated... More

I spent 5 nights in Lisbon and my hotel is close to Metro Marques Pombal. I did not go to the more popular dining area around Rossio train station. For two nights in a row, I went to Ribadouro simply because they were not many choices on Liberty Ave. The first night I ordered bacalhau (cod), and I was very... More

We went to the Ribadouro on a Monday night following a recommendation from the Maitre D' at The Hotel Porto Bay Liberdade where we were staying. What a recommendation! We arrived a little after 8pm and the place was absolutely booming. We hadn't booked a table so I quickly sought out the restaurant manager and to our delight he found... More

Very good fish restaurant and immensely popular so try and book a table or you will be standing in a very convivial line. It's a little more expensive than our guide book suggested, but worth it. The waiters are impressive, attentive, helpful, incredibly efficient and it was a delight to watch such a professional team in action. Excellent wine, great... More

Dropped by this restaurant closed to our hotel for a quick dinner. Service was cordial but because we like to share dishes we felt pressured to order more than we needed to. The food was fresh but not outstanding.

If you want variety of seafood, look no further than the large window at the center of the restaurant or at the massive tank swimming with giant lobsters. This appears to be a highly popular place - people-watching here is quite fun actually, mixing all sorts, quite a few tourists, many locals, and despite the bare-bones interior of the place,... Well. Not a fish restaurant as we know it in Holland. 1: Codfish swam in oil. Far to many big potatoes. No vedgetables. 2: Steak was ok They served, without asking chees, bread, butter and surminsky (crab) They made this very expensive. Ordered a common glas of port. 9 euro. Ordered a Vianetta. They came up with a small piece... More

The second day during our trip, we dropped by this restaurant because it is very close to our hotel, and we found that it was very crowded with local people enjoying fresh seafood and a mysterious yellow food. Although the building looks new, it has the long history. All the staff are welcome, and we saw that so many local... More
