Worth your time, but at a price

If you want variety of seafood, look no further than the large window at the center of the restaurant or at the massive tank swimming with giant lobsters. Well. Not a fish restaurant as we know it in Holland. 1: Codfish swam in oil. Far to many big potatoes. No vedgetables. 2: Steak was ok They served, without asking chees, bread, butter and surminsky (crab) They made this very expensive. Ordered a common glas of port. 9 euro. Ordered a Vianetta. They came up with a small piece... More

The second day during our trip, we dropped by this restaurant because it is very close to our hotel, and we found that it was very crowded with local people enjoying fresh seafood and a mysterious yellow food. Although the building looks new, it has the long history. All the staff are welcome, and we saw that so many local... More

The first night in Lisbon, we tried bacalhau com ovos and cebola (codfish with onions and scrambled eggs) that was good. Note: the waiter have put on the table bread, butter etc, and after we finished the dinner, we noted they charge everything at restaurants in Portugal.

Ribadouro used to be a traditional Cervajaria, a place where locals would go for some seafood, beer and a steak. Over the years it started atracting more and more tourists and prices went up and the plase lost the value for money. If you want to have great seafood at the same price go to Ramiro. If you are ready... More

We totally agree with other contributors that this restaurant offers very poor value. The shellfish platter at 28 euros should be something very special and we both chose it, but a vast plateful of prawns with a few lonely pieces of lobster in a very nice sauce with some plain rice, is absolutely not OK. Rip-off comes to mind. The... More

We were desperate for some seafood and were staying close to the restaurant, so we went there. They charged 30 Euro for a dozen oysters...that is absolutely absurd. Their "shellfish" platter, which cost 28 Euro, consisted of shrimp and a few pieces of lobster. They don't have scallops or octopus at all.

Almost every March I travel to Europe for a week with a friend and our adult children. We pick a city, use it as a base, and mix museums, and shopping with sightseeing. In March 2014 we went to Lisbon. The Ribadouro was a 10 minute walk from our hotel on the Avenida Liberdade and was in my view served... More
