We totally agree with other contributors that this restaurant offers very poor value. The shellfish platter at 28 euros should be something very special and we both chose it, but a vast plateful of prawns with a few lonely pieces of lobster in a very nice sauce with some plain rice, is absolutely not OK. Rip-off comes to mind. The... More

We were desperate for some seafood and were staying close to the restaurant, so we went there. They charged 30 Euro for a dozen oysters...that is absolutely absurd. Their "shellfish" platter, which cost 28 Euro, consisted of shrimp and a few pieces of lobster. They don't have scallops or octopus at all.

This restaurant is central, affordable, and serves excellent food...... definitely recommend for a central Lisbon eating experience.

Almost every March I travel to Europe for a week with a friend and our adult children. We pick a city, use it as a base, and mix museums, and shopping with sightseeing. In March 2014 we went to Lisbon. The Ribadouro was a 10 minute walk from our hotel on the Avenida Liberdade and was in my view served... More

Lured by the lobster tanks in the windows, we reserved for that night. We were helped by the friendly servers to choose two lovely dishes: Algarve prawns, small morsels of sweetness served cold with a garlic mayonnaise, and large prawns served hot with garlic butter and a hint of chili. Accompanied by a Planalto Reserve 2013 from the Douro and... More

You order your main course here by weight. We ate here twice and both times the waiters were very helpful in guiding us about how much to order. We had different types of shrimp each time and they were very good. The accompanying salad was simple but so fresh. This place is in a pleasant location only steps from a... More

Go to Ribadouro if you want to eat fresh, well-prepared seafood and you are ready to pay for it. Don't go for the ambiance, which is more surgical amphitheater than cozy gathering place. My husband and I ordered one dish of mixed shellfish (which turned out to be just shrimp in a creamy tomato sauce), one dish of pork and... More

I past this place and went in because the restaurant seemed to be frequented by a lot of people, more than in other places I past. The staff was friendly, the food was good. I had pork mixed with mussels and and potatoes. - This was an interesting flavor and really good. Also, a good selection of local beers.
