Old school, and incredible. Stopped by as a splurge for lunch. Sat at the bar. Linen put down for me. Bar tenders in ties and vests. I had the special - partridge pie and, of course, some vinho verde. Then coffee prepared at the bar - I won't spoil it for you, but it's quite an experience. Worth the money... More

Rustic atmosphere, but great food and wine! Make sure to try the sole fillets and the fish starters! This is one of the places one must not miss when traveling to Lisbon.

We stumbled over Gambrinus more or less by chance on a Saturday evening while looking for a different place we wanted to have dinner in. Personally, I very much love traditional fine-dining places (like let's say 30 years ago, in the 80s) and in this sense Gambrinus was spot-on. The room is beautifully paneled in dark wood (which probably makes... More

Tricky review this one as the food was actually very good but we didn't come away having enjoyed the evening particularly. Why? Because this restaurant seems to revel in the fact that it's traditional to the point that it's almost a parody of itself. The image of the head waiter proudly cooking flaming Crepes Suzette next to a table of... More

Excellent seafood. Staff was incredible, genuinely caring and very interactive with the customers. They even arranged a taxi to drop us off after the meal! The only issue is the price is slightly high and a lack of opulence for the price being charged. But I can't repeat myself how good the seafood was. We ordered the mix grill seafood... More

Good food, efficient service, pleasant decor. This is what you want in a traditional restaurant. The typical place where you can go frequently.

We came to this restaurant recommended by a friend. We did not have slots for dinner and so we came for lunch. The lunch crowd were mainly business people dressed in suits. We were about the only table as tourist. Restaurant decoration was classical, with history but well maintained. I could imagine the glamour it was 78 years back. Tables... More

We had a really nice early dinner at Gambrinus: croquettes a sandwich with beef and fois gras, the best toats with better of my life, good beer and payed a fair 25 euro per person. Recommend!

Everything is classic here: the furniture, the staff, the food. I would like to highlight the attention of the staff and the quality of the food. Pricey, but fair
