We visited Gambrinus on our last day in Lisbon, the decor is old fashioned but I love that authentic feel about it. We had not made a reservation but we were quickly shown to a table for two. I think we were the youngest people in the restaurant, there was a very mature crowd. The waiter were very attentive, in fact... More

We were a little reticent about visiting what is obviously quite an old fashioned restaurant, but it was close to our hotel and we fancied a slap up fish supper, so decided to give it a go. I'm really glad we did - the service was warm & friendly, far from stuffy, and the food was excellent - especially the... More

Our hotel recommended Gambrinus for our last night in Lisbon. After eight wonderful days with many enjoyable dining experiences, I did not expect to find such a delightful restaurant within walking distance of our hotel. We were received by the staff as if we were expected VIPs. All that needs to be said is that in every way this restaurant... More

Gambrinus is located centrally in Lisbon (at the bottom end of the tourist-trap-restaurant street Rua Portas de Santo Antao). However Gambrinus has a modest frontage onto this street with no outside tables in the street unlike most of the other restaurants. There is also another entrance to the restaurant from behind in Largo do Recedor where the taxis queue up.... More

We had been told that this was one of the best restaurants in Lisbon. The decor is nice and old fashioned. We were seated in a corner which was good for a little privacy and people-watching. Food was quite good in general, (except for one of our party who had disappointing fish), but given the reputation of the place, service... More

This is one of the few restaurants that you never get disappointed. For many years, this restaurant keeps the standards very high. You will be sure that you will eat very well, but be prepared to pay accordingly.

The food was cooked to perfection, the fish was- salmon was very tender, even though the restaurant is full in the weekend, the food did not take that long to be prepared, the staff seemed to be in a hurry, but for a good reason. The only downside if there were any is the price, compared to other restaurant it... More

It was like stepping into the 40's or 50's. The interieur was beautiful and so authentic that I could hardly believe it. Service was the best I have ever experienced and the food was like in any Michelin restaurant. I can recommend this from the bottom of my heart.

Fresh Seafood and Fish are masters. Two dinning rooms , the biggest is more formal the smaller, still formal but lighter. Excellent table service, Unbeatable fresh seafood and fish; Or go for one of the Portuguese regional dishes. It is all top quality and off course top priced. Or go to the balcony and have a light meal with a... More

we were treated like celebrities! from the moment the taxi arrived at the door, we were ushered in, seated, and attended to by the matre'd as well as our waiter. the food was classic Portuguese! it was wonderful to taste the true culture through their food.
