Superb venue and excellent food

Going through an unpretentious door from an ordinary narrow typical Lisbon side street you enter the most beautiful restaurant environment it could ever be possible to convert from what was once a convent! First time in Lisbon - we followed reviews to select our dinner venue and were very happy about it a great suprise: from the location (convent courtyard) to the overall culinary experience, a special mention for the sommelier - super helpful and helped us try new and great local wine

My husband and I had dinner at a travessa last night during our weekend in Lisbon. The restaurant is beautiful and was just what I was hoping for, however, once we sat down we were ignored for at least 20 minutes. We had to ask 3 people to order to some wine and we didn't get our wine until exactly... More

Yes as has been noted in other write ups, you will be presented with the days special chefs selection of starters ( and charged ), whether you ask for them or not. You can always decline as you sit down...then be green eyed as these platters pass you by to other tables. Many locals eat here for a special occasion... More

My wife booked this restaurant as a special treat to celebrate my 60th birthday while we were on a three day trip to Lisbon. Booking would be essential as the restaurant was full on a Wednesday night. It is situated in an old convent and retains all its original features. The dining room is the original refectory where the nuns... More

Great place for a romantic dinner or special occasion. A colleague recommended this restaurant to us. It is out of the way in a back alley, but worth getting lost for. Have dinner in the dining room and weather permitting have your dessert in the courtyard. The appetizer is a price fix type with multiple small plates. The service is... More

When you go there, you know where you are going to - this is an expensive place (75€ per PAX) - anything you get is chargeable (water) - still, food and service are good and decorum is good.

We went for my husbands birthday and the ambience and food were fabulous . So no complaints about the quality. Just to be aware a selection of starters are brought to the table unordered. It is not explained that these starters are optional until they provide a menu afterwards to order the main. In the menu it is clear that... More

We loved our experience here and would recommend a visit. The meal begins with a tasting starter menu, we had a delicious selection of seafood, meat and cheese based starters. All were freshly made and used local produce, we really enjoyed the pork suckling and seafood. For mains we both ordered fish based dishes and they were truly lovely. My... More
